mine would be "What doesn't kill you, isn't finished yet!"
"Always look on the bright-side of life". Like in that Monty Python video. I remember that and try not to fret over judging other people.
Basically someone out there is experiencing worse. I get to play video games and use the internet or did for a good bit.
All the prophecies in like Cage the Elephant, Imagine Dragons,Middle Class rut, Eminem, Portugal the Man,mcr etc. can step aside imo.

Well, one would be to "always follow the money" in the sense that a large extend of the decision humans make in today's day and age is based out of that.
But ^^^that isn't a motto but it leads, in a more macro sense, to how I feel about everything in life. A motto is "a phrase meant to formally summarize the general motivation or intention of a social group or organization", at least accordingly to Wikipedia and we know Wikipedia is never wrong.
A lot of things happen in life and they don't need to, things just are and happen. Lot of randomness. Why would a mother drown their baby boy? Just because. Why do some people live in castle surrounded by luxury while others have worms on their stomach and have to eat dirt? Just because.
My motto? It is what it is and that is that.
PS: not that we should throw our hands in the air and do nothing to improve ourselves and our surroundings. Just remember that the universe doesn't care one way or another.

I don't have a motto per say, but the advice that I try to follow is to not care so much about how others feel about my actions. The only action that this doesn't translate to is when I'm speaking to other people, but regarding my decisions about how to live my life and what course I set for it I try not to worry about what others think.
"some people don't have knees"
my wife had told me a story about hearing lots of complaints from someone she knew and was getting fed up with hearing it all the time.... so when they were complaining about their knees being sore she was tired of hearing it and told them that.
it's basically just another form of the "someone's got it worse than you" idea.
Everyone's life seems better than mine.
Better=more interesting, possessing skills, having social life, etc.
My life is probably more boring than most other peoples' lives.
Although I got my video games and YouTube, so I ain't even mad. :D
I have two:
Shit happens.
and
That which does not kill you makes you stronger.
Having lived as long as I have, I'm a true believer in both.
