Seahawks coach pete carroll has been tweeting lebron james about joining the seahawks and his most recent tweet showed a seahawks jersey with the name lebron on it.

How do you think he would fair in the nfl and do you think he would really join it? I personally think he would be an amazing wide reciever you would just have to lob it up to him and he would out jump everyone like randy moss. I have no idea if hes serious about it though.

I think Lebron is an attention whore and all this talk about joining the NFL is an attempt to keep himself relevant and in the spotlight during the NBA lock out.

well, he's an athlete. I'm sure he'd be fine in the right organization that new how to utilize his skills and coach him up. does he want to risk serious injury though and ruin his basketball career? I doubt it. It would all be for show and he'd hardly play.

I think he would have made a great TE if he had played in the pro's instread of the NBA. Now not so much. One hard hit from an NFL player and he'd be running back to the NBA. :P

Publicity stunt, Lebron James is a narcissist and would not trade his position as a superstar within the NBA to be a random player within the NFL..

While I agree, I think if Jerry Jones offered him a job as a WR, he'd at least give it serious consideration.

Hell no he wouldn't imo.. A) He is the super star of a entire sport, he is paid infinitely more due to his value as a NBA player before anything coming close to a NFL player..B) He hasn't played football since high school, and even then he was only all state.. The majority of players that make it into the NFL are around that calibre to beign with. Not to mention have MUCH more experience then him. C) NFL players average career length is MUCH shorter then a NBA's along with far greater risk of injury..

I honestly think he is doing this just to stay relevent.. Because at this time the worse thing has occured to the NBA, its in lock out and NO ONE really cares.. NFL, Baseball right now are taking the eyes of every one at this time.. With hockey just starting.

If nothing else, we know James could slam dunk on the goal post if he ever got a TD.

To me this is a publicity stunt to keep popular.. The worse thing has happened to the NBA its locked out during harsh economic times and no one cares that a NBA season may not come due to the exciting NFL, MLB playoffs, and the opening season of hockey.. I honestly think the whole "dream team" Miami heat with Lebron and Wade claiming they were hte best rubbed alot of people wrong.

lol, if he was a wide reciever i really think any qb could lob it up to him and he could out jump everyone and get the touchdown. Add a goal post slam dunk and we got a fans pouring into stadiums

The problem though is I don't know if he's fast enough to play in the NFL. He's got NBA speed. That's not NFL speed covered in pads speed.

Big difference between NFL and NBA, just being an athlete does not mean you will make a good NFL player. We're talking an extremely violent sport.

I heard hes got a 4.5 40 yard dash so thats pretty good if he was a tight end but for a wide reciever yeah thats very slow

Exactly. I think he'd have a chance to be a very nice TE. He just wouldn't cut it as a WR. Not even in the slot.

About the same effect as Jordan in the MLB. Lot's of hype with little actual performance.

Should help attendance though. Hell I'd pay to see Ray Lewis flatten his conceited ass.

Everyone is acting like lebron is a small fragile guy, i mean maybe he has no experience in the nfl but he is a physical monster and im sure he could take a hit from any linebacker in the league.

It's not just about physically taking the hit. Can he deal with it mentally? He's used to the NBA where if someone breathes on him, he gets to go to the line. Getting knocked off his feet and having to get back up and do it again is a lot different than what he's used to. I would love to see him try it though. I think it would be very entertaining.

He tried out for the White Sox, played a few Spring Training games, but then he was sent down to the Minor League Barons.

So technically he never played in a regular season MLB game, but the White Sox and Barons definitely got some use out of his name.

More importantly, could he handle being treated like a rookie and a player in a game where he is not even close the best in. Could he handle being put as back up second string? I would say no. Furthermore he is in a sport of physical monsters, he is not going to be the fastest or the biggest on the field.

By no means did I mean that he is fragile...the guy is huge, but he's never taken a hit from an NFL player before...that's a world of difference from bumping into some guy on the court. Sure he could adapt to it, but if the rumor is true he's would be going into the NFL without any serious preparation. No college football, no training camp, etc. Like I said I'd pay to see his royal conceitedness get his butt kicked.

He won't do it; this is all people severely overreacting to a stupid tweet he made. It's a stretch to assume he'd even be good enough. He's a fine athlete but this isn't backyard football. There's a lot more to it than it looks and he won't be able to step in and perform just because he was good in high school.

You say that as if he's THE biggest and fastest on the NBA court... there's guys bigger than him, and guys faster than him. Lebron is an amazing all around athlete... a true freak of nature. He doesn't have to be THE fastest or THE biggest, he just extremely well rounded. How many people on the field are THE biggest and THE fastest? None. Lebron is extremely fast, very tall, very agile, has ridiculous hops and he's f***ing built like a brick house... the dude's made of pure muscle, not an ounce of fat on him at all. lol I think he could be a really good wide receiver, quarterback, running back, punt/kickoff returner, or cornerback given the chance/time/training. He really is an athletic monster and those would be positions he could easily excel in if he has the right coaching/training and learned the positions well. Could you imagine Lebron as a Running-back or hell, a Wide Receiver? Dude would be unstoppable if he had the right training and mentality for the game. How many NFL players are 6'8" 250 lbs and anywhere near as fast as Lebron? He would out-strength, out-speed, out-reach, and out-jump a huge amount of defenders. How many cornerbacks in the league could match up to Lebron physically? I can't think of any...

.......... Lebron would never make corner back he is too big, or wide reciever he is too slow.. His 40 yard dash some one already pointed out is actually quite slow for the position your talking about.. And are you SERIOUS about the quarterback and punter/kick off? THose are skill positions in which you have to be gifted in throwing the ball or kicking it, just because he is big and strong doesn't some how mean he has a good arm or leg for that.. He may have been a exceptional football player if he went down that route, but he didn't.. He is not going to some how magically turn into a amazing football player by going into it.. SOrry that doesn't happen.

It's just talk and twitter, nothing more. He's too valuable to Nike. They'd never let him take on the injury risk.

He probably could play in the NFL, but I'd rather have him in basketball. I feel like this has just been a distraction more than anything.

Oh god no. He'd b**** and complain about players hitting him and no foul being called, fail to show up in the 4th quarter, and demand that he becomes the teams captain...

He has the size and tools to be a good TE. Antonio Gates (6'4" 260 lbs) is a basketball player converted into a football player. Gates didn't even play college football. Marcedes Lewis is 6'6" 275 lbs and Lebron is probably faster than him.

No denying that. But during an NFL lockout, if Jerry pushed hard, I'd think he'd at least listen. Obvously he wouldn't take it though. :P

Where did you take that survey saying that nobody cares about the NBA lockout. That sounds pretty stupid to me since the NBA is a widely popular league even outside the USA. YOU may not be a fan, but no need to shoot down a limping NBA league.

And you'd probably be surprised to realize that the "Big 3" brought in some of the highest ratings for the NBA in years. Maybe people were rubbed the wrong way, but clearly it couldn't stop them from watching.

Oh god no. He'd b**** and complain about players hitting him and no foul being called, fail to show up in the 4th quarter, and demand that he becomes the teams captain...tocool340

I seem to remember him not coming through in the 4th quarter of the NBA Finals; no clue where you picked those other two points from. Blind hatred?

Just because you're not an elite athlete doesn't mean you have to hate for no reason.

First off, I don't think there'd be any real seriousness related to this topic but for argument sake.... LeBron would make a great nfl prospect as a tight end or receiver. All i have to say is Antonio Gates. He had no football experience I believe coming out of college as a basketball player and he pretty much tore up the league as soon as he got in the nfl and there's no reason why LeBron can't do the same. He has more size and more athletic ability than gates as a basketball player so it should translate football wise right? LeBron would be a scary match up for anyone covering him, its not even fair.... the man can jump crazy and at 6'8 250 pounds at that.....

Speed on the court has little to do with speed on the field. He's too slow to be a WR even without pads on anyway. He's NBA fast. Not NFL fast.

Look at Antonio Gates(don't know if you follow football) but he's regarded as one of the fastest tight ends when he got in the nfl. And yet he wasnt even the fastest guy on the court when he played basketball. So what about LeBron who's regarded as one of the fastest players on the court whenever he plays. @FPSunionOWNS: Haha well I'm a sports fanatic so anything related to that, I have to get a word in LOL
