Interesting . . . for me, my "thinking voice" is different than my speaking voice, but not by much. The only real difference is fluidity of the words and the constant tone. In my mind I am articulate, and my words are all pronounced correctly at the proper voice level. In speech I find that I try to speak before complete thoughts have formed and I become nervous, stumble upon my words.

I kinda have a few. There's one that is obviously "me". It sounds like me and responds in ways that I would if I were talked to and its what I hear when im doing class work or when im concentrating so I guess it's my prime voice. The other seems to be my more sarcastic side which kinda sounds like Balthier from FFXII. It's also the voice I tend to hear if I read something meant to be sarcastic, makes sense that much. Whenever relationships (friends, girlfriends and family) my primary voice is suplimented by a feminine voice that im pretty sure I based off a girl who i've known since like grade 3 and have had on again off again crushes on. Medical thoughts tend to be thought with the voice of Dr.House just because I find it more entertaining that way. Lastly I tend to read really religious things with a stereotypical religious preacher voice.

Your conciousness is the hardest thing to rationalize with because it is YOU. Its the part of you that is aware of existence, the part that deals with the in-comming information in a comically messed up way, that part that feels but has to know, that part that is the mirror of your soul if you will. The voice is influenced by your parents, friends, and influential people you have met or seen or heard. Listening to the voice of your ideal self makes you happier, it drives you to become who you really are, if you are anyone, which you are not, nobody is anyone except for a point in time, but if you were someone wouldn't you rather be your ideal self? If your ideal self is a woman now that's pretty creepy :P Maybe it reflects something lacking in your life, a sense of perspective from a female influence. Indeed, think who you really want to be, your voice may change if you give it some thought. But don't think with the voice, the voice will tell you not to change, think with your soul, not the "mirror-soul" or "conscience", listening to the voice will just make yourself lie to yourself. It's very strange talking about this as it questions literally who you are and your place in existence as a grouping of electrical signals from a powerful organ in skull of a "living" biped grotesquely evolved from a lesser imaginative primate from a lizard from a fish to a single celled organism from a star somewhere and where in the hell do you think a soul came into being? When did the plankton start do dream and love and laugh and cry and push other plankton over just for the fun of it?

When I'm playing b ball it's usually a bit more aggressive than my normal voice, even though I'm usually calm and controlled on the court. When I'm seriously thinking it's just a bit deeper then my normal voice.

[QUOTE="FPS_Gamer123"]My thinking voice is the same voice as my speaking voice. Theokhoth

Which reminds me: Have you ever recorded your voice, and it turn out completely different from what you hear when you speak?

I thought holy crap when I first heard myself. I think without any accent or specific style, but when I talk I sound dumb. Also, I think all of those signs you posted for Asperger's or autism, I qualified for.

I definitely don't have a 'voice'. Doesn't have a sound, it just sort of... is. And as for characters, nah. But that's pretty interesting.

It depends. For some reason I can think about more than one thing at once. I have a main thinking "voice" that is basically my own but clearer and also a "deeper" thinking part that doesn't have a "voice". My thoughts just seem to be ideas or notions. :(

[QUOTE="Video_Game_King"]

[QUOTE="Theokhoth"]Man, every time I learn something new about myself, I find out that it's a symptom of Autism.:(Theokhoth

Like what?

  • Significant problems developing nonverbal communication skills, such as eye-to-eye gazing, facial expressions, and body posture.
  • Failure to establish friendships with children the same age.
  • Lack of interest in sharing enjoyment, interests, or achievements with other people.
  • Problems taking steps to start a conversation. Also, people with autism have difficulties continuing a conversation after it has begun.
  • A need for sameness and routines. For example, a child with autism may always need to eat bread before salad and insist on driving the same route every day to school.
  • Stereotyped behaviors. These may include body rocking and hand flapping (my idiosyncrasy is messing with my hair).

*raises hand* does it count if by and large I don't want to talk to people because I hate them? >__> Anyway... in answer to TC's question... same as my normal voice.

My thinking voice goes between my normal voice when I'm thinking happy thoughts and then kinda slips into a Lewis Black-ish voice when I'm angry.

It varies. Especially if I'm reading something written by someone else. But my own thoughts are in my voice.

Thinking voice? I never really stopped to think about it but it's really just my actual speaking voice, at least how I perceive it to sound. If I'm feeling somewhat goofy for whatever reason, I have caught myself thinking with random accents... depending on what I'm thinking of. :P

My thinking voice is my own, but the voice of that that points out my shortcomings and mistakes is usually a friend, or something similar. Sometimes though, I like to pretend that my thinking voice is a thick, North-Eastern Russia type accent. :P

it sounds like Christopher Lee. He played Saruman in the Lord of the Rings movies, and he played Count Dooku.
