Get out of my way, that's how!

there really is no helpful theory, there will always be accidents reguardless of if you change the way people drive or any aspect of it. it's part of life's mistakes, everything will not be perfect and accidents will alwyas happen2ndWonder
He's not talking about eliminating accidents. Reducing them is the goal.
I'd say (in the USA) we need far better driver's education. The class I took was a complete joke, and the only driving experience was to drive with an instructor for something like three hours. People are totally underprepared. To get a pilot's license, you need to log -at least- 40 hours, pass an extensive written test, and complete a solo flight... and there isn't even any traffic up there. :D
Also, regarding the idea of mechanically or electronically limiting the speed of cars - first off, not all accidents are caused by raw speed. Secondly, most cars already DO limit the speed you can go, albeit at an absurdly high speed (for example, mine is limited at 130). This doesn't solve the problem, though - the people who want to go fast will (and do) remove the governors from their cars.
I would want them to change the driving age to 18...because im i know a few people who who died in car crashes and all of them were underage and were doing stupid **** The older they are when they get thier licence the more mature they are...mgreener_34;) Just because one gets older, does not mean one will be mature.
[QUOTE="manningbowl135"]Why would we try to stop them? Too few people are dying as it is. We need population control.Pythos77
LOL.......
Make cars extremely dangerous, by attaching warheads and installing blades inside the car that way if you crash you know your gonna die, maybe a few people will be motivated to drive safer that way, and if any nut job gets suicidal or psycho then tough luck for the other people....
OR you could just raise the speed limits. The people that can adapt to the new limits will live on, while those who can't will die. Simple. :)
One thing that would help is to not give out licenses like candy on Halloween. I know somebody who is LEGALLY BLIND, and he got a license with absolutely no problem.Silver_Dragon17
Oh my.
I have great ideas
- before you start a car, you have to take a test (which is in the car) to find out of there is alchohol in your system or not. If there is, the car wont start. If there isn't, the car will.
-keep roads curved, when people drive on straight roads they ofen let go of the steering wheel.
-Make the roof of the car with this material so cell phone signals cant get pass. No more people driving with cellphones.
-A glass between the back and driver seats. Parents often crash because thier kids wont shut up
this is going to sound very weird, but bear with me
introduce minumum speed limits, thats right, minimum. Think about it, what annoys most drivers on the roads? People who drive like maniacs or drive too slow. Now what happens when people drive too slow, we become impatiant, start to think irrationaly and start to attempt overtaking manuevres (spelling?) that are dangerous, leading to potential accidents.
When you r in a car, and u cruise at around the speed limit, your fine, cruising above the limit doesnt cause accidents either (im not talking about urban areas, more major roads). What causes accidents are people who drive way way way too fast, or go round corners too fast or Overtaking dangerously (which leads back to ppl driving too slow). cars can handle 70-100mph fine these days on straightish roads, and if everyone drive at the same speeds, accidents would be a rarety.
Now, dynamic speed restrictions is a great idea, keep speeds on a road between say 60-80mph when road conditions and weather is good, slow it down in rain or fog or when there is an accident. Also, the amount of traffic on the road is a factor, and slow it down in areas which are dangerous, such as junctions and tunnels
Why stop them? Death is ineveitable. Saving people is for those that don't comprehend this.RainandSunshine
Oh I don't know. Maybe it's to keep people from dying before they have to. :|
Seriously, this is an utterly absurd response. By your logic, we might as well just eliminate health care and medical research, because death is inevitable.
Death by dangerous driving should be manslaughter, not a few nights in the cells. Also, drink/drug driving should receive an immediate ban. People'll soon learn.luke1889immediate ban? like from Gamespot?
:| to people who think putting speed limiters on cars will work. When has something like that not been hacked/bypassed? I think the solution is to get idiots of the road...for example the teenage girls in their humongous SUV's that are gossiping on their cell phones all day. And I agree wtih one of those guys up there, speed isn't the cause of accidents, its idiots. Of course you aren't going to go 120 in a school zone, but I think you know what I mean.ThaStig
Idiots speed. If you'd pay any attention at all to accident reports, you'd notice how often the phrase "speed was a factor" comes up. Oftentimes, it's not just exceeding the speed limit, but failing to account for dangerous driving conditions. The posted speed limit may well be too fast if there's ice on the road or fog. Excessive speeding is just one of the many signs of idiocy in drivers, though you are correct in that idiocy (or to say it more diplomatically, "driver error") is responsible for most 'accidents.'

When I say limit the speed of cars, I mean make weaker engines with a top speed much lower than now. I agree that most of the times it's idiocy that causes accidents, but if these idiots didn't have the power to actually go fast, then there wouldn't be so many accidents.
