What kind of Career do you want/have?

Er.. I'm 14, been thinking about my future career alot lately.. Had a look around the webs, to be straight forwards, I didn't really find anything of intrest yet.

So I was wondering, what kind of a Career do you have, or want?

I'm aware of the fact that I probably won't get the career I'd like, but I thought, whileI'm below theworking age, I should try to find a career and try to raise the needed grades for it.. :P
And so uhh.. Yeah.. >_>

A successful one.

I'm in college working on my aerospace engineering major.. so a design job for Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, NASA, etc. would be what I'm looking for.Dark__Link

Ah.. Nice.. Sounds complicated.. Yet intresting. :o

Personally I think I'd like a career entertaining people, I like making people smile. :P

EDIT: Is it odd that as soon as I saw the word "NASA", I immediately assumed it was complicated? :?

After working 15 years in the Technology Field administering and supporting many different computer systems, I needed a career change. I decided on becoming an X-Ray Technician in the Medical Field.

I'm a software engineer..from the first time I began tinkering with a PC back in the early 90's I immediately knew that I wanted a career that had something to do with computers, so it's worked out great for me. I think 14 is a good age to try to see what kind of interests you have.

Talk to people around you who have jobs/careers right now about what they're doing, their day-to-day tasks and what education they had to get to have that career. Once you have a general understanding of a particular job, you can go and look up more about that job online and see if that's something of interest to you. Even if you don't know EXACTLY what you want to be, having a general idea of which field interests you the most will give you a leg up in making sure that you cater your studies to that field..

At the moment I'm intrested in entertaining, (Not like being a clown and such, like performing Martial arts as a show of some sort. :P) but that could all change in naught but a second. x3
Always shown intrest in Martial arts, from what I've attempted I might not be too bad at it anyways. ^_^

Eh.. I am sorta confused myself about what I want to be now... and its becoming something that I will actually have to deal with soon (last year of school, gotta start making decisions soon :?)!

I was set on something related to archtiecture but now I have become very interested in cars so am thinking about something like a mechanic.. also interested in engineering. I was also previously interested in something computer related.. maybe programming or building.

All I know is I dont want to work in an office!

Well right now I'm a college student so I've thought about it quite a bit. Currently I'm going for Chemical Engineering, but I would really like to change to Pre-Med. Of course I could also see myself as an economist, or an astronomer/astrophysicist. I'm only a freshman so I have some time to decide.

Well my dream job would be at NASA's Jet propulsion labs, but I don't want to work there yet...it would be a career killer...

So after today it sounds like it could be either designing medical imaging equipment (Barco) or designing airplane cockpits/electronics (Spectralux). Tomorrow I'm hoping to meet with a Fluke Biomedical about medical testing equipment, Boeing about cockpit layouts, and Microsoft's robotics division. It's kind of a weird mix but my Bachelor's is in Biomedical Engineering and I'm getting my Maters in Mechanical Engineering so I do a lot of control systems and human factors/ergonomics type of work. Right now I'm building robots that feel indistinguishable from humans (as opposed to just looking like humans) by controlling them with models of human muscle/reflexes.

I'm currently going to college for a bachelors in Information Technology and Security, I love it! I already have a job at a large corporation in the field that my degree is in (I'm 20). I feel very thankful to be where I' am today. jd7-03
