What kind of music do you prefer?

Personally,

Classic rock, oldies, country 60s-70s folk.

You get the idea. CIassical.

Electronic music.

Mostly Electro house, Dubstep, Techno, and Drum and bass

classic rock,video game music and hip-hop/rap

I like indie, and DnB.

Polka and tribal stuff.

I also like the sounds of rain and thunder...music.

Some of my favorite songs stylistically have been indie-folk and indie-rock but I do not mine branching out. However, it is lyrics that I like most and thus I'll sometimes sacrifice my preferred style in favor of preferred subject matter.

To give you an example, this is one of my favorite songs.

I like jazz and a few sub genres of metal the most. I don't listen to music too much though.

First stand alone concert I ever saw was Little Texas.
They broke out in a solo at the shows end that could make babies alone :)

Orchestral/instrumental

Classic rock. Especially from the 70s-80s. The 50s-60s are good too.

Metal, country, folk music, classic rock, stuff like that.

Music that requires a brain to compose.

Classic Rock/Metal: Led Zeppelin, Rush, Black Sabbath, David Bowie, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, King Crimson,Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne and Dio

Alternative Rock and Indie: Radiohead, Alice In Chains, Sydonia, Crowded House and ocasssionally some Muse

Progressive Metal/Rock: Dream Theater, Tool, Porcupine Tree and Dir En Grey (Some others were also listed in Classic Rock)

Power Metal: Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Demons & Wizards and occasionally DragonForce

Folk Metal: Korpiklaani, Ensiferum, Finntroll and Moonsorrow. Most other Folk metal bands I'm not fond of

Folk Rock: Simon and Garfunkel

I also listen to some Electronic music, Reggae and Traditional Folk music.

Generally, genres mean jack**** to me, but if you insist, most of what I listen to falls under:

Generally classic rock and classical. Not typically a fan of rap, country or that crazy metal stuff kiddies listen to nowadays.

CIassical, with a preference for the very late CIassical and Romantic eras, and for certain composers of the early 20th century.

Hip-hop, rap, pop, alt. rock, and funk.

i listen to EBM, industrial, dark electro, darkwave, new wave, deathrock, gothic rock, gothic metal, and neoclassical.
