I'm just curious because there are so many people online that say any 'supermarket' brand food is bad for your pet. Most of the high quality pet foods are really expensive though. I have a cat and the best canned food I keep seeing is "Wellness". But that is $1.50 a can and I can't pay that.

I used to give him Fancy Feast but now I give him Iams because, I don't know I think it is better for some rason. What about you? Do you just get the cheapest kind of food for your pets or do you try and give them something good for them?

You don't want to buy dry pet food. Canned is better.

I witnessed firsthand a pet food company taking delivery of chicken that was riddled with salmonella.

Best website ever for dogfood. I won't go below 4 star with mine. If you feed your dog that purina **** you might think twice after reading into this.

My dog has been eating Alpo wet and Ol' Roy dry for 17 years. Seems healthy enough for his age.

That's a very helpful website, thanks for that. I usually search through the ingredients looking for the highest quantaties of meat and protein.

Dry food- Solid Gold Indigo Moon
Wet food- Newman's Own
We try to give them (cats) healthy food even though it's expensive. They're important to us.

We feed him dry food, 'good' stuff mixed with store brand stuff. He eats like a piggie and the straight good stuff seems to upset his tummy. I treat him with ham bits and tuna whenever I happen to have a tuna sandwich, or bits of salmon whenever we have some. Also Iams is horrible. There is nothing more nasty than Iams.

I tried giving my cat that and Evo, Wellness, and all that but he doesn't like any of it. He only likes the cheaper foods it seems. I give him the Evo dry food though because he loves that. He doesn't like the expensive canned foods though.

Have you tried slowly adding the better stuff to his diet? Like mixing it in a little at a time with his regular food, then eventually he's eating mostly if not all just the good stuff?

I feed my cats Merrick's "Before Grain" brand. It's a bit pricy, but my cats are important to me and I won't feed them sh*t. I might feed myself sh*t, but I won't for my cats.

Yeah and he just won't eat it. He's a real picky eater. He doesn't even eating pate of any sort. It has to be chunks or giblets and the high quality foods are almost all pate from what I've found.

lol I am the same way for some reason. I don't want to feed my cats crap but I feed myself junk food all the time. I would give him something better than Iams if he liked any of the good stuff.

If I had a pet, I'd probably feed it the cheapest stuff I could find and give him the tuna can after I got the tuna out. Cats love tuna beyond just about everything.
