What made you choose your avatar?

I change my avatars/signature pics on various times, I like to change things a bit on my profile and most of the times, I always chose Anime girls for the most parts because I love Anime.

Having said that, at the time of this post. My current Avatar is Zero Two from the Anime: Darling in the Franxx. A current Anime I'm watching now.

This one? I used to live in Christchurch, New Zealand. Picked up the Kiwis' love of rugby - both codes, though I prefer Union. Also picked up a love for their local rugby team, Canterbury, who play as the "Crusaders" in Super Rugby, the latest season of which kicked off recently.

They're the defending champions (yay!), but it's been a rocky start so far; 1 win followed by 2 losses.

I like to dabble with POV-Ray Persistence of Vision Raytracer. The early versions had a free Pac-Man mesh. I thought it would make a good avatar after I deleted the tongue.

I had originally used a portrait of The Heavy from Team Fortress 2 but then Gamespot did this whole shuffle up a few years ago and I lost it. Couldn't be bothered to fix it.

Road Rash 3DO is my favorite game. Naturally, my previous avatar was this one. Plus, I used to do plumbing on the side. I also went through the animated GIF phase with these two:

Usually there's this big game I like very much where I change my avatar for, right now it's Battlefield 1 which has been my favourite online FPS these past few years.

I picked my favourite comic book character. I thought about my xbox avatar, which is my twitter and Instagram picture but thought that the Flash is a bit more 'generic' and would hopefully avoid some of the plonkers tarnishing me with either the xbox or playstation stick (I have and use both).

It's the protagonist of one of my favorite games. And he looks badass as hell!

Viewtiful Joe is just great.

Was a big fan of the Jak and Daxter series. Had the same avatar on GT for years. Since I wasn't a photoshop pro and the avatar had to be exactly 50x50 to upload.

Most other pics I attempted to resize couldn't be molded into the box shape 50x50. So I stuck with this avatar ever since. I don't even bother finding out how to update it here. Since the mobile site doesn't allow you to see avatars. So very little point in changing it up a bit.

@davillain-: For myself, I love anything AC/DC,but I much prefer older Bon Scott era.

My avatar is Michael Alig. He was the 'king' of the so called New York Club Kids in the early 90's. He hosted outrageous house parties and the Club Kids were famous for no other reason than they thought they should be famous. The question is if these people were really creative or simply trolls...

Michael Alig became a junkie like many other Club Kids and eventually murdered his drug dealer Angel Melendez. After keeping him in his bath tub, he eventually cut off his legs, put him in a giant cardboard box and dumped him in the Hudson. Michael got arrested in '96 and has been in prison until his release a couple of years ago. Right now he's back in the club and art circuit of New York.

I am fascinated by him because he created this weird and amazing nightlife period while ending up like a monster. Fascinating in a morbid way.

I chose pacman as it is one of the most iconic gaming 'characters' but also because, with the black theme on Gamespot, it makes it really easy to identify the location of my own posts (as yellow on black is one of the clearest contrasting colour combinations for the human eye). But then I got trolled by @thehig1 whose avatar kept catching my attention ;) Oh well, you are more prolific on Gamespot, so you've earned it!

I saw someone speedrun this NES game during a 'Games Done Quick' event.

The face made me laugh so I screen capped it. I don't remember the game at all.

There's no rule stating you can't have a photo of yourself, so it looks like you're good to go. Not sure why anyone wants to do that, it's always fun seeing an avatar pics of anything but your real self.

Ah I was just wondering as no one else does, I can't think of anything I would want as an avatar other than myself you know? maybe I see it differently.

Change of plans, I change my avatar to Starbucks Siren only because I'm always going to Statbucks in the morning when heading to work and this is kinda my expression on my face while drinking coffee:

I say, just go for favorite TV, video game, movie characters as an avatar or something you find cool but other then your own face never hurts anyways. Just go for something your totally down with.
