Really looking forward to The Wettest County... surprised I haven't seen a single mention of it. Also looking forward to Gravity, Prometheus, Skyfall, Django Unchained, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and to an extent, Dark Shadows.

Not sure as to whether or not the new Coen brothers movie is being released this year so I'll leave it out for now.
DharmaMember77
It's coming out this year.
To add to the list:
New Kaufman film
Lawless (the Hillcoat film)
Killing Them Softly
Brave
The Hobbit
And though I highly doubt it will come out, the documentary from Malick.
Django Unchained as well I forgot about that one.Really looking forward to The Wettest County... surprised I haven't seen a single mention of it. Also looking forward to Gravity, Prometheus, Skyfall, Django Unchained, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and to an extent, Dark Shadows.

[QUOTE="sammyjenkis898"]Lawless (the Hillcoat film)raven_squadOh, I didn't realize they'd changed the title. :P Yeah, they changed it to the same title as Malick's upcoming film. Anticipating both. :P
Dark knight rises, Prometheus, The Raid (need to go see this), Cosmopolis, The woman in black, The Bourne Legacy.
Those are the only ones I can think of.
Yeah, im really looking forward to Skyfall as well, hoping its more Casino Royale then Quantam of Solace though, royale definitely the stronger of the 2. http://themodtech.com/2012/03/24/mod-tech-top-10-movies-of-2012/Kvothe_ModTechAgreed, Quantam of Solace is one of the most disappointing films I've yet seen.
Snow White and The Huntsman
Amazing Spider-Man
Dark Knight Rises
Prometheus
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter
Expendables 2
The Hobbit. I was actually watching LotR a few days ago (caught 'The Return of the King' on TNT), and I just remembered how there hasn't been a single movie in the genre that's delivered as well as the LotR movies did. They're more than a decade old and they're still fantastic.

That's a load of bollocks. The LOTR films are extremely overrated. All three of them are giant clusterf*cks. Sloppily directed battles of hundreds of characters, sentimental moments that are too pretentious to enjoy (e.g. when the Hobbits are made to seem heroic despite their small stature), uninspiring battles with creatures/ villains that are never developed, and reliance on lame editing techniques to convey emotion (e.g. the use of slow motion everytime Frodo gets into some near death situation). All in all, the films' story was way too simple and subsequently unengaging. Three films just so these mofos could deliver a ring to a pit of molten lava? GTFO. As a hole, the Harry Potter films are far more interesting, especially in terms of magical lore.
-Moonrise Kingdom
-Cabin in the Woods
-Cosmopolis
-On the Road
-Promethus
-Django Unchained
-Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
-Total Recall (hoping this is good)
-John Dies at the End
The Cabin in the Woods
Iron Sky
Total Recall
Prometheus
Red Dawn
flatus
This is my kind of guy. Can't believe I forgot Iron Sky!

I disagree. If you read the book, you'd know there's more to it than 'taking the ring to a pit of molten lava'. The book is, unquestionably, better than the movies. The movies are still great in their own way, however -- and I'm actually slightly appaled by how you dare mention Harry Potter as a better source of magical lore than Tolkien's creation. Harry Potter was a fun series, but it has no artistic value -- Tolkien created a fully-fleshed out world, explored not only in 'The Lord of the Rings' books, but in 'The Hobbit', 'Silmarillion' and 'Unfinished Tales'. You want proof? Read a book called 'A Tolkien Bestiary'. He is on another level, a level J.K. Rowling can never hope to reach.
LotR movies > HP movies
LotR books >>>>>>> [...] >>>>>> HP books
I'm not saying you aren't entitled to having an opinion, but if you're going to say something as blatantly wrong as 'HP's lore is better than LotR's', you might as well not :P .
Only thing that bothered me in the movie (and in a comic way, not in a 'I won't watch this again' way) is how Frodo makes a 'just **** face every half an hour.

Nope. The movies convey the LotR books well, albeit skipping a few parts that, if were in the movie, would turn it into a musical. I fail to see how the LotR movies suck (from a personal perspective, since I enjoyed them, and from a critic perspective -- the fights, music, scenery and wardrobe were all great), and it's even harder for me to see how any of the Harry Potter movies is better than any of the LotR movies.
So many to choose from, I'll say new Batman though. Looking forward to the other comic book movies also, and a few others.
I've read the Hobbit unlike LOTR so now I can judge it properly when I watch it. Also looking forward to The Dark Knight Rises.
[QUOTE="chessmaster1989"]The Hobbit and Prometheus, kind of hard to decide which.-Tish-This. this this
The Dark Knight Rises, Looper, and Stoker might be my top three. I'm a huge fanboy of Christopher Nolan, Rian Johnson and Park Chan-wook,so this is a great year for me.PlaneforgerLooper seems like it would be a good movie, ill def see that!
