Why? I think it's stupid if someone thinks they're German or American because their grandparents are from there, but heritage is a fact. It's even truer in countries like the U.S.A. and Brazil, which were colonized relatively recently: there's actually a study that shows that the Brazilian populace's heritage is roughly 70% rooted in Europe. While we certainly are Brazilian -- I'd never say I'm German or Italian because of my heritage (and because I'd much rather be a Brazilian :P) -- it's undeniable that our phenotype and genotype are heavily influenced by European immigrants.
To sum it up:
I am 100% Brazilian.
My heritage is 25% Italian, 25% German, 12.5% Native an 37.5% misc. (Spanish, Portuguese, French and random).
