Samsung Galaxy S2.
Not happy with it TBH, it suffers from one major problem. If the phone is turned off while almost empty, at a few %, then it can't be charged with a common phone charger. I'm forced to go to a mechanic to use their charger or strip a USB cable on one end, and tape the wires directly to the battery. The last option seems quite random though, doesn't always work on the first few tries.
The most annoying thing about it is that the business where I bought to phone states that the phone is functioning as intended and that the problem is normal when using li-ion batteries. I've yet to meet someone with the same problem though. Note that the problem even happens when I turn off the phone myself, before it's completely empty.

Have you tried updating the software? Possibly rooting it and going with a ROM? Your provider may not be focusing on keeping you up to date.
Pulling the battery/using your computer via USB may help as well.
Never tried rooting it, I do have the latest software and even had it completely removed and installed again by one of my providers mechanics. He told me their update system works better or something, but I didn't notice much different. In addition I bought several batteries/chargers tried several reliable android versions, none of them prevented the problem.
I tried pulling the battery and using the PC's USB. I fixed the problem several times with a PC USB cable that is stripped on one end (using the wires directly), and taping the red/black wire on the +/- parts of the battery. Which sometimes works, thanks for your suggestions though. Is the rooting thing you mentioned completely legal? Rooting/roms tend to be in a gray area.
My current theory is that the wirering in the phone, from the charger to the batteries -/+ points is damaged. Which may a loss of energy and a reduced effectiveness when charging the battery inside the phone as opposed to charging the battery directly. The phone tends to become quite hot when recharging it by normal means, even if it's turned off. Which may translate to the energy loss.
So to all Samsung G2 users, does your phone become hot while recharging it even when the phone is turned off.
That certainly sounds like defective wiring. If you warranty is'nt expired, you should RMA it.
The SG2 is a pretty damn great phone, but that means nothing if it does'nt work ;)
Itcould be a software bug though, so I think you should find your respective model onhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/index.phpand check for people with similar issues.
I highly advice everyone with a smartphone to root it and get a good custom ROM, but it does take some research. Worst part is that you can't get rid of your insecurity before having actually done it.
It's practically impossible to irreversibly brick your phone, but one can easily tread where swimming is needed ;)
I'd be happy to help out but you're better off with XDA and people with the same model as you.
