just what they do and what they say...the whole band has always shouted "EMO!" yet they say things like "lulz we are not emo ofc not emo sucks trolololol" come on, everybody knows the guys are posers[QUOTE="lightleggy"][QUOTE="firefluff3"]
Do you mean the way they dressed in their videos and on tour? the whole concept of the black parade album was based around... well, the black parade...
But what do you mean by posers?
firefluff3
Hm. Emo = emotional = Most bands.
And I dont get it, their posers by being emo and saying their not?
And have you listened to any of their new stuff?
And even if they were emo, that doesn't mean their music "sucks". You can at least agree their talented
emo is not just emotional that is the laziest description of emo anyone can think of... and yeah they are posers because the guys think that they are super rockers when they dont see they are little more than emos... the new stuff is terrible, just like its always been, the only decent album they had was 3 cheers for sweet revenge. I cant agree they are talented, they are not talented and they also heavily rely on studio because i've watched plenty of their concerts and they are terrible liveI really hope radiohead falls into oblivion soon...people should not remember radioheadlightleggyWhy don't you go around with a hammer and smash people's memory of them out of their heads?
[QUOTE="lightleggy"]I really hope radiohead falls into oblivion soon...people should not remember radioheadJML897
I wouldn't get your hopes up too high. They're definitely going to be remembered in the future.
they said the same about britney spearsI was actually going to say "my chemical romance" as a joke because...well because they actually suck and they havent done anything memorable and are nothing but possers...but now I see that someone believes that they will be remembered for being a "great band" and I just lost my faith in humanity for like the 201234123rd time[QUOTE="lightleggy"][QUOTE="firefluff3"]
I mean bands from the last 10-15 years, I really cant think of any. My favourite band is My Chemical Romance and i think they'll be remembered for being unique and doing something different with each album, although most people on here probably wont agree with me. I'd also say paramore, im not really a fan of them, but their pretty popular.
So what do you guys think?

Infact, I saw them last week. They were amazing and i have videos of it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9RpNwDT48E2:10, them last two words to the song were sung beautifully, and the last scream at the end of the second song was amazing too. this was also at the very end of the concert, so thats why nobodys singing, not because we're all "emo"
Emo has such a different definition than it did years ago. To the point its just a stereotype to mock people.

Oh well that's funny because they were in my top 3 favourite bands until last night. They were TERRIBLE live! Gerard can't sing =/ I was really quite upset as i left the gig halfway through, during Famous Last Words which i considered to be one of my favourite songs of theirs =/ :(Edit: Oh, and on topic...Oasis? I'm not a huge fan of theirs, they're okay, but i can accept that they've certainly left a huge mark on music.

I really doubt if they were your favourite band you would leave half way through, you'd at least like it for the atmosphere, and wouldnt leave because it would cost £30, and what show did you go to out of curiousity? And, to be fair.. It was their last gig in england in the past week (or two?) so he wouldn't sound as good. But thats still not a very good excuse, I just dont really believe you :P

well, years ago, I was a big fan of sum 41...till I assisted one of their concerts and had to leave after 3 songs (didnt gave a damm what the entrance was worth) because the guys were terrible. MCR is one of those bands...gerard way CANT SING LIVE and the guitarrists also fail too much while playings...MCR, sum 41 and dragonforce are probably the worst bands at playing Live[QUOTE="firefluff3"]Oh well that's funny because they were in my top 3 favourite bands until last night. Seriously, they were awful. And yes, yes they are/were one of my favourite bands... *facepalm* http://www.last.fm/user/johnaldinho/library The atmosphere wasn't great tbh, it was just full of teenie boppers with their parents because they were too young to go on their own, and it was jusy really naff. Wasn't impressed.I'm actually gonna say none. In this day and age, there is so much differerent music available to listen to, there really is no band that is of the consensus "best." Basically, I think if you ask 100 different people 20 years from now who their favorite band was from the 2000s, they will all give you a different answer.

In all fairness, he performs that and Mama pretty well, i'll give you that.Well I want to select as new a band as I can or else it's too easy, but I usually don't notice bands until they are long since established as heavy-hitters. I'll say Wolfmother is fairly established, but only have two albums starting in 2005, so I'm betting we'll see more good things from them that will further solidify there position as a band to be remembered. And I just checked there Wikipedia page and they just announced they are working on a new album less than a week ago. Huzzah!

This thread isn't about favorites, it's about what will be remembered, I didn't like them much either.. LIST 'O FAVORITES: Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Buckethead... they'll be remembered, but not so popularly, just within the guitar playing world methinks.[QUOTE="Ramen1020"]

Commercial free movies are always good, this man has no soul.
[QUOTE="Travo_basic"]Arcade Fire for certain.LJS9502_basicI get that the non mainstream like Arcade Fire but you won't be remembered if you can't cross to mainstream and I don't think they will do it. Local alternative station has listeners rate whether to play music or not and AF got the hate. Haven't played them since.....AF got pretty mainstream... A number one album? Selling out arena's when not even big name bands like U2 or REM have done so in the past years, gained huge amount of respect from critics and fans from around the world. And of course won a grammy.
AF will easily be remembered as the one of the best modern bands.
Wait I thought this thread was about "modern" bands, because Radiohead is not modern, neither is tool or any band from the early 90s and below. With that said, although they are not ultra poplular, I can easily see Modest Mouse being talked about 15 years from now. They have excellent consistancy with their albums. Very solid indeed.
