You can not believe in something, but still believe it is possible. That is what I'm like.

JML897

That is agnostic. They don't necessarily believe in a god but they believe it's possible. And atheist doesn't believe it's even possible.

Atheism IS not believing in god.

Atheism IS NOT not believing god is possible.

Yeah dude.....that's exactly what I said. You might want to reread my post.;)

No, it's completely different from what you said.

What I said was agnotics believe in the possibilty...atheists do not. That is correct.

You're labeling strong atheism as all types of atheism. Strong atheists claim to know that a gods do not exist, while weak atheists merely do not believe in gods. I am a weak atheist, personally...

The word believe is correct. An atheist doesn't know anything in the realm of the supernatural...thus it's a belief and that is the correct way to label it.;)

He was responding to me....and I said agnostics believe it's a possibility...atheists do not. Therefore, he was incorrect to argue the wrong point as it wasn't what I had said originally. He misread....and now you have.

I didn't say they did know, I said they claim to know. I know theists who claim to know that their god or gods exist. To say that all atheists do not accept that gods are possible is incorrect...

Why did you bring up the ethnic background of the church?

Everytime I say I attend a Baptist church people automatically assume its those black churches. So instead of waiting for someone to ask me, I just give out the whole description of the church I attend,

I see....well there are different categories in any denomination and that would be uneducated to state they are all the same...but I see your point.

No, incorrect. I'm an atheist who's mind is open to all kinds of possibilities. I'll believe it when I see it. So you were wrong.

Weak atheism is very similar to agnosticism... but weak atheists still do not believe the existence of gods.

I do agree with you that it's impossible to know.

Why did you lump Buddhism and Hinduism into the same one? They are not the same religion.
