I'm surprised to see such big differences between download and upload...my connection is 100mbps on both DL and UL. I thought having the same speed both ways would be the norm?

Upload doesn't matter , i think that's why they focus on the speed of Download ....

Now i'm curious about the price of services, mind if i ask how much you pay for this service?

@mjorh: Right now we're paying 50€ a month for a 100mbps DL/UP internet connection, telephone and tv (even though we don't have tv but they don't offer a service without). Also there's a service above ours, 500mbps but we don't really have need for that.

It's quite reasonable.

My middle of the pack subscription is at 50 Mbps. Whenever I download say, a game from Steam, my throughput is between 6 MB/s and 6.6 MB/sec. In Mbps, that's 48.0 Mbps and 52.8 Mbps. Average is ~50 Mbps. I guess Cox Cable is okay, relatively speaking.

I paid the same amount per month in NY state with Time Warner. I got 30 Mbps with Speedtest. That should be 3.75 MB/sec. I reality, throughput was around 1.2 MB/sec when downloading from Steam. Sometimes it dropped to as low as 600KB/sec. Bunch of crooks.

Oh. Data cap is at 350 GB. I don't think all of us combined even come close. I download one game maybe once every few months or so. Netflix, maybe a couple of hours each day.

About 58 Mbps down and 63 Mbps up according to speedtest. A reliable and fast service is so crucial to gaming these days. I still remember when dial up was still considered a viable option on some PS2 games... ewww.

@jun_aka_pekto 350GB.... well it'd be enough for one month ...more than enough actually.
