When I woke up this morning I felt TERRIBLE!!! I had diarrhea and I threw up twice. Now I am kind-of okay, but still nauseous. Hopefully, I just have a mild stomach bug, but I might have food poisoning. Some possible causes are: - I ate IHop last night. It seemed clean, and the service was good, but does IHop have a reputation for causing sickness? - We just had a water softener installed last night, it is possible that I drank liquid dirt. What should I do? Should I call a doctor? Just take it easy? Thanks - Ubergamer22

Get to a doctor sounds like the most reasonable thing to do at the minute.

Just take it easy and keep up fluids. It'll pass. If you get to a point where you can't keep any liquids in for a while then you should probably go to a doctor and get an IV to stave off dehydration.

If you think your water softener was installed incorrectly, the first thing you should do is get your water tested. But it sounds like you're on t he road to recovery. Just keep up the fluids (bottled if you don't trust your tap) and stay in bed.

Sounds like E. Coli poisoning. But like others say above , if it gets worse go to the doctor.

Rest, drink lots of water, and keep a bucket handy.

Follow these steps:

  1. Quickly amend your will so as to leave all of your cool possessions to Palantas of GameSpot.
  2. Call doctor.

Yeah, I second this, get your water tested. I've had stomach flu and went to the doctor after I got it twice in 2 weeks, there isn't anything they can really do. Unless there is something unusual aside from the frequent vomiting/diarrhea. Also it was recommended to stay away from dairy and eat very bland plain foods (like saltine crackers).

Get a TV in the bathroom and sit on the toilet all day watching TV, you might want a minifridge in there too.

Sip water and gatorade, if you gobble too much in one shot, it will upset your stomach. And if you get hungry, nibble on some crackers or a banana.

Don't waste your time going to the doctor. You just need to rest unless it gets worse.

a doctor for food poisioning?

everyone on here prolly gets that 2 or 3 times a year.

people would be stunned if they knew what all those "24 hour bugs" really are.

drink fluids and rest.

Seriously, I'm so sick of hearing people telling folks to go to the doctor for EVERYTHING. You don't go to the doctor for food poisoning or a stomach virus. You rest up and keep your fluids up. The people saying to go to the doctors are the reason that people that actually NEED to see a doctor have to wait 3 weeks to see one

Drink and rest would be my advice. It usually stops after a day.
