This one is tougher than any of the instrument "best" posts in my opinion. There's more opinion involved in this than those because its sound instead of skill.
I'd have to say though, for a few up there would be up there wouldhave to include
Freddie Mercury King Diamond Cedric Bixler-Zavala Claudio Sanchez Johnny Whitney
The latter 3 are more swayed by personal choice though
Oh, and a mention for Amy Lee for female, I don't listen to much music with females doing vocals Ironic though, as all my favourite bands have very very high vocalists...

Cedric Bixler-Zavala is awesome. I really like Mike Patton aswell.
Are we talking any singer from any genre of music? If so there are plenty of female singers that have amazing voices. Let me know if you're limiting the types of music to choose from.
al barr, lemmy kilmister, paul diano, phil anselmo? but seriously not billy talents front men. good vox but buzzcoks had that kinda vox first so my vote would go to them rather then benjamin
billy talent is my favourite band, but bens voice isnt anywheres near the best.. and alex from franz ferdinand is just horrible.... id say freddie murcery as well..
ok first off the BEST is jimmi hendrix imo( I love his style and his voice) then its Serge Tankian of system of a down, then the singer of muse is amazing too.
I'm going to use the same answer I use every time I answer a music question like this, but I'm going with Ville Valo from HIM. Great range, and a great songwriter too. Robert Flynn is alsoone of the better malevocalists in rock.
