Free Bird, Light My Fire, Revolution, I Want You (She's So Heavy), Won't Get Fooled Again and just about every live recording of any Grateful Dead song.
Both solos in 'Ride the Lightning' by Metallica, the second solo in 'Homage for Satan' by Deicide, most Dragonforce songs have at least one good solo, the second solo in 'Thrasher' by Evile. Those are my personal favorites.
I think the song is called Kissing the Shadows by Children of Bodom. It just about DEFINES epic. Also, Jump in the Fire by Metallica is a favorite of mine.
Roger Waters' live performance of Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun from the In The Flesh tour album. (Waters is not the person who does the solo, but whatever.)
The version on the CD release was taken from a different perfomance (unless it's my imagination) and I like that version better, but that's the link I came up with.
