What sounds irritate you?

I think we all have those sounds that annoy us, but what are they for you OT? for me

- Loud crunching on anything, fruit, etc

-Slurping loud

- Loud tooth brushing sound

- The sound of a woman's boyfriend entering the house while I'm educating her on the art of wrestling.

I am actually A OK with chalkboard scratching. Not too bad.

Being able to hear others eat. I just imagine the masticated food rolling around inside their mouth.

styrofoam is most definitely the worst sound in the world!!

The feeling of rust, against my salad fingers....is almost orgasmic.

The sounds of my parents having sex.

The sound of silverware scratching against teeth, it makes me shiver.

Chewing. I hate the sound of chewing. Doesn't matter if your mouth is open or not. I can't stand it. It's why I hate eating with people because the sound of chewing makes me angry. And if you chew with your mouth open I might loose it. However, most irritating of all is chips, especially when someone puts half the chip in their mouth and then crunches down. I have actually flipped out when one of my friends kept doing that.

Also, there's one type of paper I hate the texture of. It's sort of shiny and thicker (maybe tougher) then regular paper. (Its not card stock) I hate the sound of it when it is being moved or whatever mainly because the texture of it makes me grate my teeth when I have to touch it. Also, the sound of a particular form of glass. I have this one blender and the glass part is so difficult for me to handle because of both the sound and the texture. The same also applies to these corn on the cob holder thingies we have. The sound of them is so irritating and the texture is awful. I have to grab paper towel or something to grab them with because the sound and texture combined just drives me insane.

Velcro straps being pulled apart. Quite honestly, I could be in a really terrific mood but once I hear that, I want to kill everything that has ever breathed. Even thinking about the noise gives me a headache.SeraphimGoddess

Dude! I hate that s*** so much, too. It's at the top along with running your nail across a paper sheet.

You know, that is annoying after a while.

Ceramic scraping on ceramic is the worst sound, by far. There are also certain loud prolonged sounds that aren't exactly annoying, but they make me irrationally afraid in any situation. If I hear a coffee grinder, a big vacuum, a jet overhead etc. I'm all of a sudden really alert and sort of waiting for something to attack me. Especially at night when it's otherwise quiet.

Horrible eating. You can't be near me if your a bad eater. I can't be in the same room as my dad and one of my brothers due to this. I have zero tolerance of it, I lose my temper it drives me mad. My dad sounds like an open sewer pipe even if it's just something like a single wine gum, it's like he's got a handful of slugs in his mouth.

The scraping of styrofoam irritates the hell out of me. People chewing with their mouth open, a loud crying baby, and a barking dog irritates me in a different way though. It depends where I'm at and/or what I'm doing at the time.....
