Seems Pepsi hired some lady to determine whether it's appropriate or not...

Haha funny ad :) I think it's an original twist on the 'only one calorie' usp.

[QUOTE="HardQuor"]And that so-called "gang bang" ad is ridiculous. How many people would come to the conclusion that it depicts a gang bang if they had never been told that's what it was? It is only subliminally suggestive.Cherokee_Jack
It's a bunch of creepy shirtless guys surrounding a chick being pinned to the ground by another shirtless guy. What else would it be interpreted as?

It's an ad, it doesn't have to be interpreted as anything. She's fully clothed, and they all have pants on. There've been tons of commercials and print ads far more risque than that. Hardly a gang bang, from what i understand, those require full nudity and penetration of some sort.

I've had the experience of knowing more then a few people who committed suicide and honestly I don't find this that offensive. Yes pepsi is trying to get free advertisement through controversy in viral marketing but if we just ignore it then they lose the free publicity they were aiming for.

Well whoever let that ad go into production is probably losing their job.

And now for my contribution to Pepsi's bottom line: The ad itself doesn't hurt anyone. Those that have been affected by suicide are either dead, or are worried over nothing. The ad doesn't encourage the act, survivors of suicide victims shouldn't feel that this is a slight against them. War widows don't picket war games do they? HardQuor
Seriously?

What they did was turn something as serious as suicide into a joke. They're basically saying "Haha, this guy's gonna kill himself. That's so funny." It's really not funny at all.

ART doesn't have to be tastefull (yes art can be commercial) Dark comedy is brilliant and you all need to grow some thicker skin. Just because it offends you doesn't mean its a bad thing. Either everything is okay or none of it is. I lold at that and I would like to see more like it. See heres the thing some of us like morbid humor and we like it without a bunch of people complaining about how distastefull it is or complaning about how its encouraging suicide. You don't like the ad don't view it. I think its brilliant and all the people calling for its pull need to have a reality check.

I DON"T CARE! Political correctness for the win am i right!?

Good art should offend the masses. Just because its offensive doesn't mean its bad. South park anyone? Just because its a touchy subject for you doesn't mean its a bad thing.

Yes seriously. As someone who has had to deal with a long-term depression, I can tell you that joking about it does indeed help.
These are the kinds of things that you don't ignore. You face them.
