Depends what genre of game. When I play a racer I play Mustang Nismo, I play that song when I take my 93 Pony or my Chevelle out for a drive.

This. Unless the red sox are playing then I turn off everything but sound effects and listen to the game.Whatever the ingame music is.

But the music might be bad and you might wanna listen to other music.I listen to the in-game music. Listening to other music just seems, I dunno, a bit like watching a movie with the sound muted and talk radio going. What's the point?

Again, it's like a movie. Would you turn the sound down and listen to something else over it if you didn't like the music in a movie?
Same here.this. So if I was a video game programmer and replaced the games audio with Justin Bieber would you guys "crank dat sheet up"?[QUOTE="F22_King_Raptor"][QUOTE="Pirate700"]

This. Online time I turn the intake music off is if it is a FPS. But that's because I want to hear my enemy as they approach. Which means I don't listen to any music at all in those games.Whatever the ingame music is.

I only listen tomy music when Im in multiplayer. Sometimes I will listen to rock but most of the time I listen to metal.
in game music 99% of the time. occasionally ill crank some eye of the tiger when i really need to kick some assTH1Sx1SxSPARTAThat's an awesome song. Have you seen the movie with the same name? Awesome movie as well.
If it's something like Sim City or Civilization, then I'll listen to a mix of classical and jazz.
If it's a sandbox shooter like GTA IV, then I'll play a hodgepodge of genres.
Otherwise, I'll leave it to the game's default music.
whatever i find entertaining to lsiten too.. sound tracks and people you probably a few folks u may or may not have heard of (or didnt know do music of any kind)
an exmaple would be P.O.D. they are fairly good but by far their most famous piece of work you probably didnt even know they did..

if i dont want to listen to the in game music, then i listen to:
Hollywood Undead
Tool
Breaking Benjamin
Paramore
Katy Perry
Disturbed
and then some singles from various artists.
thats basically the jist of it.
In most games I listen to nothing, or the in-game music if it's there.
There's some acceptions, like if I'm flying a jet or helicopter in BF2, or if I'm running around aimlessly enough that I don't care about hearing what is around me.
Usually something off of what the subject matter would be if it were serious:

I have literally only once listened to anything besides in-game music while playing a video game. Ghost_702The only time I listen to other during the game is when I play GTA games where I'm allowed to put my own music on the user radio. When playing games like Need for Speed: Shift on my PC, I do have my music going in the back ground during races though. Mostly because during races, no music is playing....:P
