Where are you getting this information from? AFAIK, reflux is associated with a malfunctioning or loss of the tone of the lower oesophageal sphincter, and has nothing to do with chewing gumwith/without swallowing. Further, constipation is more due to a lack of insoluble fibre in the diet or prolonged avoidance of defecation andsomething as small as a chewing gum being swallowed would not have any effect at all...
Also: last thing I had was cereal. :)
