Mines had to be with my very first gateway computer. I just got it and was just getting used to the hardware aspects of computers and it was very frustrating. Day by day my pc kept restarting at it's own whim and without any warning...

My most frustrating problem...well, nothing really. I have the intelligence, resources, and common sense to accurately troubleshoot problems before they become frustrating.

Not a problem technically, but I hated the days of dial-up. You could never use the phone while somebody was on the computer.

Downloading Avast and not knowing where the hell the install file ended up. Not being able to find something that uninstalls McAfee. Not knowing where the Print Screen pictures end up. I could go on and on.

That's me for right now. I'm talking my first experience which acted as a catalyst to me having the intelligence to promptly fix common pc problems in a non abrupt manner.

They end up on the clipboard. So you can paste them into any program like paint or photoshop.

i dont know, is McAfee security center not an AV then? If it is, then that is what i am using. I click on scan, it scans stuff, then tells me it may or may not have found something, and then it puts stuff in hibernation or isolation or something in those lines, and problem solved? =| I was told Avast was the best free anti virus software out there, so i downloaded that, but i cant make it work (like all things computer related)

the important thing is that the picture (assuming you aren't in a game or whatever) ends up in computer limbo until you paste (ctrl-v) it into a picture program like MS Paint. the reason i mentioned the game thing is I think if you prtscrn in a diablo 2 game, they get automatically saved as a jpeg in a folder inside your diablo 2 folder?

McAfee doesn't scan rootkits very well, rootkits are new generation untraceble spyware programs that gets injected into the windows shell. I suggest you install a secondary anti-malware program and scan your pc regularly.

The fact that people think I understand so much about computers, when in actuality, I know very little beyond basic computer usage and maintenance.

Select text. Right click, copy. That text has now gone to the clipboard. Which is essentially the RAM of your PC. Print Screen does the same thing, but with an image of whatever is on screen. So if I were to press Print Screen now, what I see before me is put on my RAM/Clipboard. Then I can go into a paintshop program and paste it, and see the image. What frustrated me the most. When my PC would randomly reset about once a day or twice a day. I took it to the repair shop about once a week for 5 months but it was never fixed.

When you copy or cut something, it goes to the "clipboard", which pretty much just means you can paste it.

Same. The only thing I can think of is that my Nintendo Wi-Fi Connector (For me to use my DS online) doesn't work with my computer. However, it does on my sister's. If I want to play online, I have to go in the other room, and set it up. Then, if the computer goes to the screensaver, it drops the connection, so I have to change that setting on her computer, then later change it back.

It's not that bad, but it's annoying. Only if my brother changed the router from WPA to WEP...

My hard drive died 3 months after I had bought it. I'd just migrated all my stuff over to it - photos, music, archived work etc. , and hadn't made a back up. For a week I was livid, until I found a hidden message board about the problem. After a few calls, those lovely people at Seagate sent over a courier to pick up the HDD, repaired it and returned it by courier, all free of charge and everything within a week.

It's no big deal, you can reset your router to the default settings (there is a tiny button at the back of the router), also WEP passwords can be easily broken analyzing the hash in the buffer. I think I should stop here :P

Hash is a signature (it's also called a Digest), it's like a figerprint of your router password.
