What was your most frustrating computer problem??

Mines had to be with my very first gateway computer. I just got it and was just getting used to the hardware aspects of computers and it was very frustrating. Day by day my pc kept restarting at it's own whim and without any warning...

There was a boot disc failure when I was trying to copy my resume.

Downloading Avast and not knowing where the hell the install file ended up. Not being able to find something that uninstalls McAfee. Not knowing where the Print Screen pictures end up. I could go on and on.BiancaDK

My current problem. My pc is running stupidly slow. Trying to back up all the data via DVD but I'm struggling to do it.

Anti-Virus (security software). I use Kaspersky Internet Security Suite...

McAfee doesn't scan rootkits very well, rootkits are new generation untraceble spyware programs that gets injected into the windows shell. I suggest you install a secondary anti-malware program and scan your pc regularly.

The fact that people think I understand so much about computers, when in actuality, I know very little beyond basic computer usage and maintenance.

Same. The only thing I can think of is that my Nintendo Wi-Fi Connector (For me to use my DS online) doesn't work with my computer. However, it does on my sister's. If I want to play online, I have to go in the other room, and set it up. Then, if the computer goes to the screensaver, it drops the connection, so I have to change that setting on her computer, then later change it back.

It's not that bad, but it's annoying. Only if my brother changed the router from WPA to WEP...

It's no big deal, you can reset your router to the default settings (there is a tiny button at the back of the router), also WEP passwords can be easily broken analyzing the hash in the buffer. I think I should stop here :P

Hash is a signature (it's also called a Digest), it's like a figerprint of your router password.

I'm trying to get an old latop apart so I can get access to the harddrive but alas. Today is not the day for me. First my PC is buggered, now this. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
