Live by myself and try to convince myself I am living the life by not having to worry about anyone else or spending money on anyone else and having my own place, while on the inside really feeling lonely and bitter. :(

[QUOTE="Treesmash"][QUOTE="Animatronic64"]lol, yeah. Think of all the old guys you know that never got married or had kids. Yikes, creep central right there. Eh, I suppose if you like to make unfounded generalizations. Well seriously though, think of when you go to church and there's a guy that's older than 20 there my himself. That's super weird, man. Or being that old and going to the movies by yourself? I mean I usually would laugh at that guy. That's definitely not a normal or happy way to go through life. :PA solitary lifestyle isn't so bad.

Uhh I've been in a long term relationship for awhile now and sometimes I go to the movies and other places by myself. I see nothing weird about it sometimes you just want to spend time alone. :|
Is it just me or does the OP come off as if not getting married is some terrible thing that solidifies you in loneliness/failure?

Was he the same guy awhile back who made a thread about marriage that basically demonized all who didn't want to get married as anti-marriage?
Well, I mean... umm... I don't know how to break it to you but name one American president that wasn't married. How many doctors and lawyers do you know that aren't married? It's not that you have to be married to do those things but a life that you lead that would make a person of the other sex want to be with you usually means you're successful. Is it just me or does the OP come off as if not getting married is some terrible thing that solidifies you in loneliness/failure?

Several. There are millions of doctors and lawyers in the world compared to less than 50 presidents in over 200 years. It's probably mathematically impossible for every single lawyer and doctor in history to of been married. I also know plenty of doctors in their 20's who arn't married.
As for presidents: Image is very important in politics. And a single man doesn't attract as many votes as a normal christian family man does.

Well Pixel-Pirate was saying that there isn't a connection between not being married and failure and I'm saying there is. If you're a successful person people want to marry you. Simple as that! :)[QUOTE="lazerface216"][QUOTE="Treesmash"] Well, I mean... umm... I don't know how to break it to you but name one American president that wasn't married. Well Pixel-Pirate was saying that there isn't a connection between not being married and failure and I'm saying there is. If you're a successful person people want to marry you. Simple as that! :) You have a 19th century Victorian mindset. In this century, it doesn't matter if you're married or single. You don't need to be married to be successful. The marriage life isn't for everyone, and many people find happiness in the single life. Some people just don't want to deal with relationships, others want more freedom. If you're successful, people may want to marry you, but you might not to be married. Simple as that.[QUOTE="lazerface216"][QUOTE="Treesmash"] Well, I mean... umm... Well Pixel-Pirate was saying that there isn't a connection between not being married and failure and I'm saying there is. If you're a successful person people want to marry you. Simple as that! :)Of course they will, because people are naturally attracted to money and power and success tends to come with that. However, being successful does not mean you are married or that you will want to be married. It means people may want to marry you but it's a two way street. If someone wants to marry me I do not have to marry them.
I actually kinda have a plan for this. I have a deal with one of my friends that if neither of us is married by the time we are 35 and it is convenient for us we will cohabitate and have kids.
[QUOTE="binpink"]Feeling a little more like Blanche today are we?I'd try to live alone and keep a younger man on the side, just for fun.

Doctors and lawyers?? Yea, good example. There's a difference between being married and being happily married. Neither one makes you a success of a person.
I would like to get married one day, and I am even considering that my girlfriend might be the person I want to spend my life with, but right now I'm taking it slow with her. But if I didn't get married I would still enjoy my life and live it happily sorrunded by family and friends that I care about
