suppose your ex girlfriend or some random girl you slept with suddenly accused you of raping her..what would you do if that happened?

There's nothing you can do, a woman can convict you on rape on word alone even if there's no evidence or the evidence is to the contrary. Best you can do is get a new identity or flee the country.

Pretty much this. The amount of celebrity rape cases that have been going on here in the UK over the last few years is insane. A lot do appear genuine, but some of them date back to the 60's and 70's and are going off the testimonies of the victims alone, with almost no other evidence, and everyone just eats it up.

It's scary how easy it is for a woman to accuse a man of rape and get them sent down, even with zero evidence.

I don't know British law, but at least in America you can get it repealed, or have it dismissed for no evidence.

Assuming you don't use a court appointed lawyer you'll win. Most rape cases even if the woman got raped can't provide enough evidence for a competent defense lawyer.

They can prove sex, but not rape.

You only have to register if you are found guilty or in some cases agree to a plea bargain. Don't know who told you that you can be completely acquitted of rape and still have to register.

But that has nothing to do with your claim that somebody who was acquitted of rape would still have to register as a sex offender. 1. People get sentenced without proof on rape cases and they were innocent

I would deny the accusation, exercise my right to remain silent, and put my faith in the criminal justice system considering the fact that the burden of proof lies on the prosecution, which means that they'd fail to prove their prima facie case.
