What would you do? (poll)

Let's say your at the end of a huge boss battle or you've been playing a game for around an hour without saving when a loved one comes to you with some bad news. The news is bad enough that you should stop what your doing so that you can comfort them, but you wouldn't be able to change the situation any way. Problem is the portion of the game you've just played was extremely difficult, and if you just turn the game off you'll have to re-do the whole thing over again. So what would you do?

Pause the game and see what they want? No, that would make way too much sense. :|

I'd turn it off, it's just a game. People are more important.

If it were me, I'd just pause it and turn the tv off. Don't want to come off like an insensitive prick :P, but then I don't want to lose an hours worth of excruciating play time.

This question came to mind last night in a dream where I was playing a God of Wartype game in a huge boss battle when my wife came to me w/ news of someone that had died, and I said just 5 more minutes and I'll be right with you. Obviously ( dream or not) we all know how that turned out. About everyone saying pause it. I kinda figured that was a given insinuation with turning the tv off, but leaving the system run. What good would it do to turn thetv off w/out pausing first. hahaha...

Since everyone is just saying pause it why don't we make it more interesting? You are playing MGS4 for the first time(You have avoided spoilers), the credits have ended, and all of a sudden you see Big Boss. Then your love one comes up to you. Do you keep watching to find out what happened? Head_of_games

I'd pause it. That's probably the quickest way of stopping the game actually. If it's serious the last thing on my mind would be the game being left on pause.

I think I'd use my multi-tasking abilities in this situation. I'm not the most comforting of person as it is, so I doubt it'd make much difference whether they had my undivided attention or not.
