apparantly ive listened to my fave album far too many times i actually stopped counting when it reached 600 :P lol suprisingly im still not bored of it. i can listen to it everyday hell even twice and it will still wow me just as much as it did the day i first listened to it! actually a few days ago i listened to it and i got teary over how beautiful it actually is O_O. it just hits you so well and i cant stop listening to it and what made it better is i watched vids of them playing and then there was silence and punishment divine and well both started off a bit rocky but than hansi sounded so damn legendary onwards so it wasnt just computers upping his voice

oh and my fave album is blind guardian - a night at the opera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyvxfFz2Q58 my fave song from the album

anyone got an album they can put on everyday and still have it be like the first time?

The only reason I think it was received in such a mixed way by critics is because it is a lot to work with. The album is so dense there is simply too much to take in to appreciate it fully on just two or three listens. Also, this obviously alienates most of the casual listeners, and asks a lot of even the fans, and with no obvious single, aside from fans of the Trent it wasn't going to sell billions of copies.

If on the 10th anniversary, which is just around the corner, it were to get re reviewed by the critics again, I think they would probably come to the consensus that it is superior to The Downward Spiral in many ways.

Yeah that makes sense. Its just I love that album and even on release realized how epic it truly was. Plus its one of the only albums of its type that I feel lived up to its ambition.

I completely agree. Since I bought it on its release day it has been my favourite album. Although I'll admit, first listen I loved it no where near as much as I did on the 5th or 6th or 7th or 8th and so on. It just gets better every time you hear it.

The only album I've ever bought, and the only album that I have signed.

I've loved every single song on it since I heard it, 3 years ago.

If on the 10th anniversary {of NIN's "The Fragile"}, which is just around the corner, it were to get re reviewed by the critics again, I think they would probably come to the consensus that it is superior to The Downward Spiral in many ways.

Samwel_X

I thought so then and I think so now... one of the most underrated albums in recent rock music history.

As far as albums I never get bored of, there's a lot.

Metallica's first four albums, Blink 182's Enema of the State, System of a Down's Toxicity, Rush's Moving Pictures, Megadeth's Rust In Peace... and a few others, I guess.

Rings around the world by the Super Furry animals by far. I love that CD so much, heck all their albums are fantastic but Rings around the world is their best imo.
