It's not that much different. Different currency, drive on the other side of the road. Plus we have plenty of fat people who consider McDonald's a second home. House prices, well, they suck. Too expensive, even for small crappy ones.

Depends on where you live, but a one family house can go from 100K - 800K.

Also, it happens to be awesome over here. But that also depends where you live, the US is large.

Wow, some guys are paying a lot for housing. I never realised it was so disparate. Here in Texas I have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, with a loft (essentially a 4th bedroom), great yard lots of trees and I'm about 8 minutes from down town Fort Worth. It's only $108,000...

Anyway, I love America. Its got some problems but most of them are exaggerated by the media. And even with the ones that aren't, it's still a lot better than any place else I can think of.

Wow, that's really cheap. That'd probably be something like $250,000 here in northeast Illinois, and like $500,000 in South Cali.

But yeah -- it really depends on where you live. Some homes are cheap, while homes in places like New York and Los Angeles are ridiculously expensive.

Housing prices differ from state to state, county to county, city to city.

Where I live you can get for 500k a 3500 sq ft house (South Florida outside Ft. Lauderdale). In the Northern part of the state you can get a 3500 sq ft house for 200k. A 1 room apartment costs 1k a month here to.

For 500k you could get an acre of land in Gerogia with a miniature mansion.
