[QUOTE="CommanderShiro"]The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck,Theokhoth
Read it now. :x

I read a few hundred pages of it, and never found the time to finish. Funny story, we had to bring our own silent reading to class one day and I brought that book. My high school crush brought the same book, and I was thinking destiny......

[QUOTE="mindstorm"]Well, to name books on my reading list that I currently own... Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem (I have read parts but not all) A Theology For the Church edited by Daniel L. Akin (who happens to be president of my seminary) Just As I Am: An Autobiography of Billy Graham City of God by Saint Augustine Desiring God by John Piper Scripture by Robert Saucy Moral Choices by Scott B. Rae The Goldsworthy Trilogy by Graeme Goldsworthy A Case For The Existence Of God by Dean L. Overman The Gospel For Real Life by Jerry Bridges etc. etc. ...not to mention books that I do not yet own...NightEyes7
I'm not religious, however my parents really enjoy listening to a guy named John MacArther (I think that's how you spell it), and I'm pretty sure he's written some books as well.

While I haven't read much of his work nor have I heard his sermons, I'm familiar with his views. We definitely agree on the major points of the faith though we diverse on a few less important points. Based on what I know of him, he has some stuff I'd love to read one day.

Still haven't gotten around to reading Catcher In The Rye. Also A Game Of Thrones. I remember a bunch of people on here raving about it so I thought about getting it until I found out the other week that my dad actually has all the books. He's like, this is the book I've been trying to get you to read for the last few years.xTheExploited

On my bookshelf I currently have the following yet to be read:

  • Pattern Recognition (William Gibson)
  • SlaughterHouse Five (Kurt Vonnegut Jr.)
  • Empire of Ivory (Naomi Novak)
  • Victory of the Eagles (Naomi Novak)
  • His Dark Materials Trilogi (Philip Pullman)

And on my Amazon wishlist I also have:

  • Island (Aldous Huxley)
  • Brave New World (Aldous Huxley)
  • Starship Troopers (Robert Heinlein)
  • Stranger In A Strang Land (Robert Heinlein)
  • The Handmaid's Tale (Margaret Atwood)
  • 1984 (George Orwell)
  • Animal Farm (George Orwell)

Think I'll tackle Pattern Recognition first.
