What's the appeal of James Bond films?

Really,why are they so succesful?

I'd rather the games,myself.

They're just awesome. Though I did also grow up watching a few of the older bond films (I still want that movie boxset...).

Because Bond is the ultimate badass. The franchise has gone on for 50 years. Some of the movies sucked, some were so-so, and some were absolutely great, like Skyfall. For most guys, watching James Bond gives them a chance to live vicariously through a character that they will never be. The cars, the hot women, the hilariously bad puns and one-liners.. what's not to like?

I don't know. Most of them are stupid. I like Goldeneye and Casino Royal is alright.

This fellow poster nailed it right there, thats the bond appeal in two lines, but lets not forget the production values, the cast of actores and the plots themselves. Heck, there would be no Austin Powers if there was no bond, perhaps not even MGS.
