I feel that a briefcase or lawyer bag is too dressy (the fact that it's usually made of leather doesn't help), but I need something to carry around an umbrella, and coat around in when the weather looks bad but it hasn't actually started raining yet.

Is it weird to carry a duffel bag around as my to-go bag when I'm not actually going on a vacation (or going to the gym)?

Carry whatever bag suits your needs. I use a CamelBack-pack (durrr) if I plan on carrying more then the usual amount of crap.

Well I'm not usually wearing a suit, but I do generally wear a sport coat and something looks "off" with a backpack. Especially because I don't have that "sporty" look. Problem with a briefcase is that anyone under 20 holding a briefcase just looks odd. Like, you wouldn't carry a briefcase to high school, and I just got out of high school a couple years ago.

Agreed. Good in any situation unless you're over the age of 50. Then you may want to go with a soft briefcase like you can get at Office Depot. They don't look as formal as a briefcase, perform the same functions, but they also have a strap for your shoulder that you can throw over your head and can carry whatever, while looking informal and casual. They're relatively inexpensive too. I use one when I carry things for business. Less room than a backpack for stuffing in clothing, but better compartmentalization for separating all your sh**.

Not really... it's too big to look girly. And the strap is like a seatbelt in width and feel. It's totally manly, I assure you.

a black trash bag, reasons 1: it's unbreakable 2: you can carry it around 3: you can fit anything in it 4: you can use it as a condom relate to (2:) 100% safe 5 then when ever you done just throw it away 6 cheap NO NO NO just kidding, for me the best bag i have always liked is those cinch sacks I got one from Bungie :D only $$$$13, You can fit a tax book in it, labtop, umbrella or w/e in it. Now if you looking carry alot stuff then a good fashion bookbag would do the trick.

Yep get a messenger bag if it's big enough to hold all you need. Don't have to carry it with your hands like a suitcase too. Pretty much about 60% of guys I walk past in my city have one ha

Just carry around everything in a guitar case. You need not have a guitar or musical ability, just the case itself to give the impression to the general public that you are marginally cool. Besides, without the guitar in the case you free up the case's space for your DnD books, Magic: The Gathering card collection, spare computer cables, and whatever else your self-image might to hide to remain hip and such. Or maybe a backpack or messenger bag.

Nice. If anyone thinks too deeply about it, the insignia loses its luster. That is, unless it really is a member of FOXHOUND's.

I usually just use a regular backpack. If it's a lot, a duffel bag. I heard military duffel bags are pretty good.

A messenger bag or duffel bag or even just a reusable grocery bag are fine, or a backpack if you want to go that way. Whatever you want, go for function over being stylish.

Manbag? Hmmm well I guess I can dig a couple out:

Your typical over-the-shoulder manbag:

Here's an all saints one (brand I tend to buy):

Just a name for bags for men I guess - can come in all shapes n sizes....

Messenger bags don't even come close to man purse territory though.

I'm thinking a sling bag, buttpack or field bag. Maybe a duffle but the problem with duffles is they're meant for unorganized large or larger items or packing therefore duffles usually don't have compartments. A field bag is a bag that's hybrid of a duffle and buttpack. Some can be suspended around the shoulder and waist while others are shoulder strap only.

I don't really need compartments. Things that will be inside my bag: spare box of contacts, eye drops, shades, spectacle case, umbrella, mints, raincoat.

i like a backpack as well, you can carry many heavy things without putting too much pressure on your shoulders (if you were carrying like a shoulder bag)
