That's a strawman. I never used the word "democratic" to describe the EU as an institution.
And most European countries don't vote on domestic treaties either...does this mean that they're undemocratic?
No,but a while ago the EU let France and the Netherlands vote on something called the Nice treaty.They both voted no.So the EU go back,change the treaty so the public can't vote this time around,and call it the lisbon treaty.But because of Ireland's consitution,the public have to vote,and they vote no.So now we have the president of the EU telling us we have to vote again,and this time vote yes.
The EU is not democratic.Because when a country votes no.They are told to vote again because the president doesn't like the result.
