The thing about girls on gaming forums is that they get attention pretty fast. Almost all alleged girls on GS were well-known before they reached a 1000 posts. I'd bet anything that most of the "girls" who hasn't provided proof in some way or the other on GS are traps. I've been a mod on a few other gaming boards and you'd be very surprised at the number of users who had an e-mail that matched a male facebook account and who still claimed to be girls...or who had one main account were they claimed to be a guy and an alternative account were they claimed to be girls. 80 % or more of the girls on these boards landed in one of these categories.
It's become more of a meme than anything. It's pretty much known that everyone uses the net these days. For the most part, it's the quality of your content, and/or the lulz you provide that matter.
I'm sure being a none-ugly female on a male dominated forum helps too, but I whole-heartedly agree.

I made a strawberry rhubarb pie on Friday, with real whipped cream, no cool whip! I just had a convo with this girl who's getting a strawberry rhubarb pie for her birthday. Isn't rhubarb some kind of vegetable thing like fennel? I mean, who wants a vegetable pie? Especially with strawberry? Seems kind of grotesque... Love this thread btw... even if it did take me 20 mintues to read the whole thing :)
