What's the best way to get more viewers to my blog?

So I am starting to do blog.. Talk about games, post my 3D design and something else too.

I am new to this so I have zero clue how to gather viewers. I know there are strict rules like advertising my blog to message boards etc.. So now I ask for advice rather than advertising and taking it for granted.

Spam links and topics about your blog or something....

...Or just make a good blog, and let word of mouth be your advertising.

I remember a banned user named Big Red got alot of replies when he made a blog post about futanari.

go on to an off topic forum and create a thread about your blog. :P
