I greatly prefer 'soccer'. That's not to say I don't enjoy American Football though. It's gaining a lot of popularity here in the UK for some reason, lots of TV coverage on Sky Sports/ESPN (we get live games constantly from NFL and CFB) and the NFL even plays a regular season game here now. Although they're thinking of making that two + .

Football, the one where they keep playing and don't pause the game every minute for commercial breaks, timeouts and what not. The game should flow.

While I love both sports, one thing I cannot stand about soccer is how un-competitive the leagues are.. I mean it is a joke! People in America whine about the yankees winning too much, but I mean look at manchester united.. They've won like 15 out of the past 18 seasons in the premier league... No one other than Barcelona and Real Madrid can win La Liga No one other than Bayern Munich can win BL... I mean other than Serie A and MLS every league is a two horse race... The only hope any team has to succeed now is to be lucky enough to be bought by an oil billionaire like Manchester City..

While by themselves I like both sports equally, American football is so much better balanced it isn't even funny. Also things like REPLAYS make it so teams don't feel cheated out of wins because of horrible refs every other game.

you do realize that the Super Bowl is the most viewed event on television right?

Can you back that up with a source or something because that seems unlikely

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_watched_television_broadcasts

look down at the top 45 network prime-time telecasts, there's 21 Super Bowls but no soccer events

here's some more links

Voted for football, cause it's called football. You use your feet and you kick the ball with said feet.

Ask most Americans and they'll say American Football. Ask the rest of the world and they'll say Soccer (Futbol/Football). Basically just ask if people are American or not.

For me it's American Football all the way. It excites me way more, there is more scoring, there are hard hits and tackling without someone barely tripping and going down holding their FACE or their shin and acting like they died, only to get up right after when a card comes out, or right after they're stretchered off or after the magical 'spray' is applied. Always makes me laugh when I see the funniest flops on YouTube. Reminds me of "Pro Wrestling" and they're 'stunts' they pull.

Here's a hilarious video that many of you might have seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ppt7NdIj_yg&fb_source=message
