[QUOTE="MrGeezer"][QUOTE="ASK_Story"][QUOTE="MrGeezer"][QUOTE="ASK_Story"]Well, the other site I mentioned lists it at #4, so who knows.
But whether dangerous or not, they are still scary looking.

What is the other site?
www.top10.hostgb.co.uk/statistics/deadspiderinfo.htm
It's here.
And here.
www.the10thatmatter.com/top-ten-7/deadliest-spiders.html
Okay...for starters, let's look at the first site. As if the big pulsating arrows which point to ads weren't enough, we can look at the amatuerish appearance of the site. Looks like about as much effort went into creating that page as you or I would put into making a grocery list.
Let's also note the lack of scientific names.
And the lack of sources cited.
And then let's consider the fact that entries 7-10 were all "tarantula". :|
Ignoring that there's been no proven case of anyone ever being killed by a tarantula, "tarantula" is a VERY broad term referring to thousands of different species that span most of the planet. They couldn't be bothered to let us know WHICH tarantulas they were referring to?
And if entries 7-10 are identical, then it's not a top ten list. It's a top seven list. The fact that they ran out of ideas before getting to number 10, and then simply kept on repeating number 7 sort of shows me that they don't even have enough material to encompass a top 10 list. If you can't even think of 10 different spiders, then I'm really not gonna put much stock into what you say about spiders.
Wikianswers says about the same.
The bottom line is, they are venomous, just not lethal like the Banana Spider.
Black Widows aren't lethal but they can be bad for unhealthy people and kids or if not taken care of.
Actually, black widows can and do kill people. They are not USUALLY lethal, but neither are gunshot wounds.
