Am I the only one left on the planet who prefers jazz? It seems like everyone is just going with the usual rock and hip hip because everyone around you guys have influenced you to listen to it. There's hardly anything to anticipate in music these days.

Yeah, it seems like music is being taken over by materialism instead of actual art.

To me, it doesn't matter what genre it's in. As long as I'm in the mood for it, I'll listen to it, but I'm mostly in the mood for something relaxing -- I'm a relaxed person.
Why is it that nearly everyone who deems 'classical' music as the greatest genre knows little to nothing about it? I'm no expert, but I'm not about to lump century's of composers into the same collective, generalized pile. Specifics people, and reasons for their preference.
I listen to just about everything excepting Country, Rap and western Pop music.
I love everything from Ska and Classic Rock to Techno (DnB in particular) and Death Metal. I even like a bit of Hip-hop..bit I can't say I have a favorite genre.
That's pretty much how I feel as well. My two main choices would be alternative rock and classical but I pretty much listen to everthing else except modern metal.
