Not really.

I agree! Whether you are overly obese or entirely too skinny....neither are healthy, much less pleasing to the eye.

Well it's not like I chose to be skinny. I still don't get why I have to get a bunch of crap for it.

Your right in the sense that people should not be so judgemental...

Well it's just that I literally cannot help my accelerated metabolism and body structure. I inherited my mother's skinny and tall genetics, as it is prevalent through out her family side. I used to exercise a lot during ninth grade, and I ate very well, but I only gained about five pounds, so I went from 130 to 135. Ever since then, I don't exercise as much, but I still do so, and I eat a lot, and since my mom is a pediatrician, I can't eat unhealthy foods. But no matter what I do, I can't gain weight, but I still get crap thrown at me for it.

Have you tried weight gainers or perhaps a consultation with a nutritionist?

Then eat more and work out. I'm probably more skinnier than you. 5'10 and a half, 14 years old, 128 pounds. I don't work out, but I eat a **** load and I gain a few pounds from that. So eat more!

Not really.

Why would you say that.

I'm warmer, more comfortable, and smarter than most skinny people I know.

I know smarter doesn't have anything to do with it, but it's the truth.

Yea, skinny people usually don't do well in life academic wise, or know how to put on coats.

Why do you have to give them crap?

I'm not, I'm just saying that I'd rather be skinny than fat. It's one thing if you're responsible for being fat or skinny, but when you're like me and you have a body condition and structure that prevents you from gaining much weight, or if you have digestive problems and as a result are fat, it's a different matter. But regardless of the conditions, skinny or fat, you get crap for it. I have a friend at school who eats very healthily and exercises a lot, but she still gets mocked for being fat. Am I saying that I blame her for being fat just because I prefer being skinny over being fat? No. I'm saying that if I had to choose, I'd be skinny, which I am.

My mom is a doctor/pediatrician, so she's my nutritionist. And I don't like the idea of ingesting substances that aim towards putting weight on my body, I'd rather do it the natural way.

Hmm...well maybe a higher calorie intake diet, would help.

If my own doctor hasn't recommended it, then it's probably not a good idea.

Being skinny =/= healthy, in fact you could be as, if not more, unhealthy than someone a little overweight.

Someone shouldn't be ridiculed for the way they look. Whether they're fat, skinny, tall or short. However, being too skinny can have health issues just like being overweight.

For me however I couldn't careless if a person is underweight or overweight. There's too many shallow people in this world already and we don't need another.

The doctor hasn't recommended it because she's your mom :P of course she isn't going to recommend that you gain weight...not because it's a bad idea.

it's not good for anyone to be too skinny, it's unhealthy. I'm pretty underweight myself and I'd love to gain 5-10 pounds if I could.

She has recommended that I gain weight, just not by a high calorie diet.

There's nothing wrong with it. I'm skinny myself. But it's really starting to tick me off about all these weight loss commercials where I live(the US. Don't start a flame war, please).

What are you talking about? It's perfectly fine for anyone to be skinny. I am skinny but I excercise EVERYday, eat a healthy diet, and work out. I'm fine and perfectly healthty.

I'm skinny but it's not too noticeable because of what I wear. Besides, I'm quite happy with my weight. I'd prefer this than being chubby.

I said too skinny. as in very underweight. there's nothing wrong with being thin, but if you're all bones it's not very good for you or your appearance.

My brother has a 4% fat content, comparative to my 19% (And I am not fat mind you.) He is essentially meat and bones, but there really isn't anything he can do.

they are probably just jellous and if they don't know it yet they will know it soon, the only bad thing about being skinny is that you'll get really hurt in a fight cause your bones are so easily accesible.

I said that in response to the TC saying it was okay for girls to be mad skinny while it isn't for guys. I'm just saying it isn't good for anyone to be "mad skinny" be they male or female.

Well there is a limit it's like the same as being too much over weight in a way.
