Not counting after drinking coffee ,energy drinks or any other stimulants. It often varies but Mine is fairly stable if I get plenty sleep usually when I do feel drowsy it only takes like a little less than half a hour too gain full wakefulness after warming up

I wake up feeling refreshed. In my 20s I would sleep for 12 hours and I'd still be tired after I woke up. I got a new mattress & pillow and they have helped tremendously. I get a solid 9-10 hours of sleep every night and I never wake up feeling tired. I have a good amount of energy every morning.

I only drink coffee to stave off the caffeine withdrawal. If I don’t, I’ll get the predictable headache.

As for my energy levels, it’s pretty stable, but I do need that afternoon nap every once in a while.

@mrbojangles25:

Perhaps i should have phrased it as how energetic a person feels throughout the day

Ahhhh right on.

Well, I'll give the frustrating non-answer of "it depends".

Usually on how much sleep I get, yes, but surprisingly what time I go to bed as well. 6 hours of sleep from 10PM-4AM is better for me than 8 hours of sleep from 1AM-9AM.

I've more or less weened myself off of coffee and just stick to sipping tea all day; this is mostly for hydration, but if I drink 1-2 L of medium-strength tea I sort of think of it as microdosing myself without caffeine throughout the day so I have some energy but not so much to make me jittery.

Also if I don't eat before bed I sleep much better, much better quality.

So, to answer your question: if I go to sleep on an empty stomach before 10PM and get 6+ hours of sleep, I tend to be quite energetic.

is there like a recommendation to how much caffiene you can have before the withdrawal happens. i've gone in through that in the past and it was never a headache... typically my tolerance gets higher when I don't get enough sleep

@poarstman: not really. In depends on the person and how tolerant they are to caffeine.

But I would think smaller amounts of caffeine are better. I tend to drink lots of coffee.

@poarstman:

Forced myself to take advantage of it this week , didn't feel invincible but it helped me push through some physical pain and bolster my immune system... It kind of sucks that despite getting enough sleep I still feel relatively groggy so I have to set a different alarm a hour or so early so that I have time to warm up before my initial wake up time

Probably about normal.

Yeah, actually, I'd say that if you take an endocrinology textbook and look up "normal, healthy diurnal baseline adrenaline range"... that's me, slap bang in the middle of the sweet zone.

I've had it for about a year.
