[QUOTE="chessmaster1989"][QUOTE="battlefront23"] Mordbid Angel, eh? Haven't heard many metal bands with a similar name... Do they sing about death, war, and demons? Wait, I think I answered my own question.battlefront23
You're right, because all metal bands sing about death, war, and demons.
Every single actual "metal" song I've listened to has. And I've listened to at least one or two songs from every band that metalheads like tzar3 have posted.I listen to the more Extreme Metal bands, those you wont like obviously...
Try this:

Bands:
The Beatles
Grateful Dead
The Who
Cream
Santana
Solo:
Bob Dylan
Eric Clapton
Robert Johnson
Elton John
Neil Young

Probably the best in dub step though that might not even be good genre description for him.

I like it when bands do things like this in an attempt to be cool. It provides the lulz.
Dodging the point? Typical... And like I said, one bad music video. Whoop-de-freaking do. It must mean they suck. Uh...if you make a music video that bad, then yes, you most certainly suck. And Morbid Angel's lyrics mean much to me, considering I'm not a big fan of Christianity myself.
"Lies - And you fill their souls
With all oppressions of this world
And all the glory you receive?
So, What makes you supreme?
Lies - Your crown is falling
I offer fantasy And you, you creator are
Blind with envy"
In fact, no lyrics give me greater joy.

"Catfish Soup"
Again and again sing this that we live,
it's all we have to go off of.
This is a nightmare come to life,
this is something you'll regret at times.
When you see there's an end tonight.
Just think about this now,
as we come to an end.
The decisions you have,
made will come back to haunt you,
and as the story ends and
you look to the sky,
this couldn't have happened by chance.
And Here's your escape as
He Calls out your name,
you fall to your knees
and answer his call.
But Here's your escape,
He calls out your name, you fall to your knees,
and answer His call.
Lord I will be anything for you.
Hallelujah,Hallelujah, saved by grace. x2
Hallelujah, I've been saved by grace,
Hallelujah, saved by grace.
and this is why, I've been saved,
by His grace.
Just think about this now,
as we come to an end.
The decisions you have,
made will come back to haunt you,
and as the story ends and
you look to the sky,
this couldn't have happened by chance.

Oh, battle, I'm sure metal is never used productively .
Oh wait, duh, what about metal protest songs!
Wicked World (Black Sabbath)
The world today is such a wicked thing
Fighting going on between the human race
People give good wishes to all their friends
While people just across the sea are counting the dead
A politicians job they say is very high
For he has to choose whos got to go and die
They can put a man on the moon quite easy
While people here on earth are dying of old diseases
A woman goes to work every day after day
She just goes to work just to earn her pay
Child sitting crying by a life thats harder
He doesnt even know who is his father
War Pigs (Black Sabbath)
Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of deaths construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!
Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor
Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait till their judgement day comes, yeah!
Now in darkness, world stops turning
As the war machine keeps burning
No more war pigs of the power
Hand of God has sturck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees, the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings
All right now!
It is used productively. It's called metalcore. :POh, battle, I'm sure metal is never used productively .

Fates Warning, old school Prog/Power Metal.
Not all Metal is about teh Devilz you know...
Metal is diverse, with plenty of topics to sing about. Band like that are mostly into the whole fantast aspect and such...

And also because I like to escape from reality at times and let my mind wonder in order to venture into the creativiy and imagination of my mind, especially at school when theres nothing to do. Hehe.

Attitude is a biggie for me as well. It's one reason I loathe Bring Me the Horizon cuz they're so cocky when they have no talent to speak of. A sense of humility is something I always like in a band.Porcupine Tree. I don't really know my favorite solo artist... Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Steven Wilson probably.
