Deftones / Team Sleep. Because they have Chino Moreno. Close runner up would be City and Colour.BiancaDK

[QUOTE="battlefront23"] Mordbid Angel, eh? Haven't heard many metal bands with a similar name... Do they sing about death, war, and demons? Wait, I think I answered my own question.battlefront23

You're right, because all metal bands sing about death, war, and demons.

Every single actual "metal" song I've listened to has. And I've listened to at least one or two songs from every band that metalheads like tzar3 have posted.

I listen to the more Extreme Metal bands, those you wont like obviously...

Probably the best in dub step though that might not even be good genre description for him.

[QUOTE="battlefront23"] That's so much better. I like it when bands actually sing about things that matter to me, not when they delve into darker spiritual realm.

battlefront23

I like it when bands do things like this in an attempt to be cool. It provides the lulz.

Dodging the point? Typical... And like I said, one bad music video. Whoop-de-freaking do. It must mean they suck.

Uh...if you make a music video that bad, then yes, you most certainly suck.

And Morbid Angel's lyrics mean much to me, considering I'm not a big fan of Christianity myself.

"Lies - And you fill their souls
With all oppressions of this world
And all the glory you receive?
So, What makes you supreme?
Lies - Your crown is falling
I offer fantasy And you, you creator are
Blind with envy"

In fact, no lyrics give me greater joy.

Or maybe they don't have that much money but wanted to release a video? Your problem with Christianity is saddening, dude. (In a non pity way) I feel bad for being rude earlier. This is one of my favs by Attack Attack! And yes, they do have stupid song titles. :P

"Catfish Soup"

Again and again sing this that we live,
it's all we have to go off of.
This is a nightmare come to life,
this is something you'll regret at times.
When you see there's an end tonight.
Just think about this now,
as we come to an end.
The decisions you have,
made will come back to haunt you,
and as the story ends and
you look to the sky,
this couldn't have happened by chance.
And Here's your escape as
He Calls out your name,
you fall to your knees
and answer his call.
But Here's your escape,
He calls out your name, you fall to your knees,
and answer His call.

Lord I will be anything for you.

Hallelujah,Hallelujah, saved by grace. x2

Hallelujah, I've been saved by grace,
Hallelujah, saved by grace.
and this is why, I've been saved,
by His grace.

Just think about this now,
as we come to an end.
The decisions you have,
made will come back to haunt you,
and as the story ends and
you look to the sky,
this couldn't have happened by chance.

He's releasing new stuff soon-ish, I think. There are already two singles out for listen: Burial & Four Tet - Moth Burial & Four Tet - Wolfclub There are also some promos flying around: Burial - Lambeth and an untitled tune I'm definitely gonna support and get these from a store

Oh, battle, I'm sure metal is never used productively .

Oh wait, duh, what about metal protest songs!

Wicked World (Black Sabbath)

The world today is such a wicked thing
Fighting going on between the human race
People give good wishes to all their friends
While people just across the sea are counting the dead

A politicians job they say is very high
For he has to choose whos got to go and die
They can put a man on the moon quite easy
While people here on earth are dying of old diseases

A woman goes to work every day after day
She just goes to work just to earn her pay
Child sitting crying by a life thats harder
He doesnt even know who is his father

War Pigs (Black Sabbath)

Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of deaths construction

In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait till their judgement day comes, yeah!

Now in darkness, world stops turning
As the war machine keeps burning
No more war pigs of the power
Hand of God has sturck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees, the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings
All right now!

I don't dislike metalcore because other people do. I just don't like it. Same reason I don't really like black metal, nu metal, etc. I just don't think it's a good genre.

Well, if I were you, I would start by checking out/buying the Black Sabbath albums Black Sabbath and Paranoid. Heaven and Hell is also a great album by Black Sabbath. PM me with your thoughts on them, and I'll be happy to give you more advice.

Yes, I see your point, the same goes for me at times, but also the attitude and mentality that comes from the music is also important for me.

And also because I like to escape from reality at times and let my mind wonder in order to venture into the creativiy and imagination of my mind, especially at school when theres nothing to do. Hehe.

It's strange cuz I have no aversion to 90s alt. rock like Smashing Pumpkins, NIrvana, Deftones, etc. Maybe it really does have to with the instrumentals. I'm not sure. :P

Fates Warning, old school Prog/Power Metal.

Not all Metal is about teh Devilz you know...

Metal is diverse, with plenty of topics to sing about. Band like that are mostly into the whole fantast aspect and such...

tzar3

Well lyrics are of utmost importance to me. And if I have no connection to a song, odds are I won't like it.

Yes, I see your point, the same goes for me at times, but also the attitude and mentality that comes from the music is also important for me.

And also because I want to escape from reality and venture into the creativiy and imagination of my mind, especially at school when theres nothing to do. Hehe.

Attitude is a biggie for me as well. It's one reason I loathe Bring Me the Horizon cuz they're so cocky when they have no talent to speak of. A sense of humility is something I always like in a band.

Opeth and Agalloch come to mind, though I appreciate many black/death metal bands (thrash also).

Porcupine Tree. I don't really know my favorite solo artist... Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, and Steven Wilson probably.
