I'm from the Film Appreciation Union and I'm appalled by what I'm seeing in this thread.

Oh, and my favorite movie is The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly - I own it on Blu-Ray.

My most favorite movies are the Original Star Wars Trilogy and I still have the 1995-1996 Special Edition VHS tapes of the movies along with the 2004 DVD box set.

My favorite film is Gran Torino, and I own zero copies of it and have no plans on changing that anytime soon. I thought seeing it twice in a theatre (which is a very rare thing for me to do) was enough. I may pick it up just to have for my collection, but it's not a huge priority.

I really really like (500) Days of Summer, but I don't even own it. The movies I really enjoy I buy on Bluray: Star Trek 2009, Inception and Avatar. They also have to be new to warrant a bluray purchase, since old movies are pointless in HD because they weren't shot in HD...

none are my favourites, but I own more than one copy of several movies. I have Blade Runner 5 DVD set and The Final Cut on blu-ray. I have the LOTR triolgy theatrical on DVD and extended on blu-ray. I have the thing on HD-DVD (I know, I know) and blu-ray. Finally, I have The Big Lebowski on DVD and the 10th anniversary edition on blu-ray.

I'd like to make it clear that considering a piece of work to be your favorite is not the same as considering it to be the best of the medium it belongs to or even among the best of the medium it belongs to. With that said, Transformers and Transformers: Dark of the Moon are my favorite films; they're just so fun to watch. Watching them is like watching a live-action cartoon and brings me back to the time of my childhood when my imagination was vivid enough to let me get lost in one. I have one physical copy of each of them on Blu-Ray Disc, as well as ISO Images of them on my computer.

That is a really good movie.

I only have a small amount of movies that I actually buy and not rent, and that would be one I think I would like to own at some point.

Halloween. I believe I have five copies of it; 1 VHS, 1 DVD with the correct color scheme, Extended Version DVD, 25th Anniversary Edition with tons of extras, and the Blu-ray. I usually tend to get rid of the prior version if I upgrade formats, but there's particular reasons I have so many copies of this movie. Yes, being anal is one of them haha.

Movies are overrated. You get tired of them after you watch the same movie many times. Series are better because they are longer. I especially liked Moomin (המומינים 1990) and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1986 series הקוסם מארץ עוץ)

Contact is one of my favourite films and I own 4 copies: One VHS, two regular DVD copies (I bought one and one was bought for me as a gift I didn't need) and a copy on BluRay.

I also own two copies of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Blade Runner.Got the standard 1992 Directors cut on DVD, and I've the got the five disc tin edition with five versions of the film in it.

joesh89

I've bought most of the Blade Runner remasters and director's cuts that Ridley Scott released over the years. So I actually have 4 different box sets. That beats Jaws by one copy. :)
