All species suck, we're just smart enough to realize we're jerks. I've never seen ants help older ants across the street or seen an anti-human eating group comprised of sharks, so in that regard we suck just a little bit less.
Personally, I think we are a very confused species as a whole. I don't really think we have much purpose -- if any at all -- and having ego's is one of our biggest downfalls.
We pwn; what other species has created online porn? Here's a clue: NONE. Admittedly, other species have been features in online porn, but that's a different kettle of fish altogether.

lol, this is true, but I think humanoids are the only species that doesnt completely run off of instinct.
I think the human race is great, just populated with far too many useless or harmful people. If we could just eradicate all of the useless ones and create a master race.... jk =P But I do think that over time we will continue to evolve and hopefully, just hopefully we evolve mentaly in some way for the better.
Edit, someone said something about Dolphins, I know they are pretty highly intelligent but do they think?
Seriously though, I just think that like everything, humanity is found in a turmoil because of the constant work of the antithesis of good and bad, wrong and right etc and in the end I think we will always be in the middle.

I think we're doing pretty good, no matter what those show off dolphins say. At least we have opposable thumbs. >_>

Humans are self-centered, pretentious and self-destructive while being completely oblivious to these things at the same time. Rats and dolphins are better imo.
A bunch of self-centred and egotistical jerks who are arrogant enough to declare they don't need morals anymore. Even the ones who give money to charity have some sense of self-interest in their actions. We twist religions to our liking and make up laws that benefit themselves. Whether we like it or not, we are creatures that are driven by self-interest.
I find us fascinating, since it seems we have gone as high (or almost as high, at least in all probability) as we could possibly evolve since there is nothing above us in the food chain... we're basically the pinnacle of evolution, which I guess happens to be intelligence and opposable thumbs. But I also find it interesting how we have evolved to the point where there is no real threat to us besides us (not including asteroids or something, just other organisms). So we basically climbed all the way to the very top, only to then turn on each other. I also wonder if we're the only species in the universe that has the power to intentionally go instinct (with nukes, that is). It seems pretty crazy, becoming the most powerful and intelligent species on earth has come with so many problems... I mean, the whole point of a species to live and to make the species keep on living, yet we're the only species that commits suicide. It's like we're so smart, we're just bored now, since we still have all these instincts that we just don't seem to know what to do with half the time.
I think it is hilarious how this is worded, but I'd say we're alright. We've progressed but not as much as we could. I think our morality (or in many cases, lack thereof) is what causes our problems.
Human species ashunters-gatherers in small packs were great for Earth and everybody else. Humans in a society-based way is just god-awful and really bad to Earth and other species.
