What's your opinion on emo people?

I personally don't like them.

As for why no one likes them? They seem whiny and pretentious.

I think the people who go and cut on themselves for fun are just lame.As for the style its ok,I prefer all black all the time.Kcube

I have no problem with them. I hate people who insult them just because of how they dress though. Just because they wear a black shirt, tight pants, and converse/vans does not mean they are depressed.hokey-pokey18

I neither like them nor dislike them. They come across pretty depressing sometime. I will say this though. Some of the emo girls are hot. :DAnamosa41

In my opinion, emo kids are the slime on the bottom of the socialbarrel. They are the "click" kids turn to when they don't fit in with the preps, nerds, skaters, etc., etc. It's pretty weak if you ask me.

what i dont get is what kind of enjoyment do they get from causing themselves physical pain. i mean, when im angry sure i punch a wall or myself (kinda) but thats just to relases a little stress.

people who find enjoyment in their own pain (finding enjoyment in other people's pain is normal though) must have a psychological disorder cause i think its our instinct to feel pain as a way to say "stay away"

but if they have to cause themselves pain, i'd actually like them if they got into a group and banged their heads with frying pans, that'd at least be funny.

and i think that the term "emo" is supposed to mean emotional (i never actually figured it out). so would an overly aggressive bully be an emo? just wondering.

Let em go nuts I say. There are much more important things in the world than emos. Sure I don't like the style of what they do whatsoever, but I'm not gonna go up to em and cuss them out because of it.

that's kinda off though. gangsters (im not saying you're one cause i dont even know you) where black shirts and hoods (im guessing thats what you meant by hoodies, i have no sense of fashion, i just wear what i can get from my closet)

and, well, my friend continuously smiles (and when he doesnt, his face is kinda bent into a smile :P )but people dont label him a psycho path (or at least not that many people, he is always joking but it could all be a cover :O )

I have no problem what so ever with them. In fact, some of the hair styles are quite cool and I wonder sometimes how they even got their hair like that.:shock: Also, I was bored in class one day so I leaned over and talked to an emo guy and he seemed pretty cool. Plus, it's a stereotype that all emos cut themselves, which isn't true at all. Another stereotype I hate about emo people is that they're depressed. Stereotypes suck.Zeldaguy16

LOL. That's kinda right.

For me, I like the emo people for their style and some of their traits... but what i don't like about them is they cry over song lyrics (well, some of them) and cut themselves.

Anyone who blames the world for their own problems, then hangs themselves without any regard for people who actually care about them deserves the treatment they get. They are selfish, and I couldn't disagree more with their philosophy.

As for the fashion fad I really couldn't care any less. The people who complain about such superficialities are far more annoying.

I hate them. I'm not a very liberal person, for me its the socially acceptable way or the highway.
