What's your opinion on Folk music?

Not Folk Metal, not Folk Rock, not Indie Folk. But real Folk...

The most over-looked genre in modern times as far as I'm concerned.

I, personally, love Folk Music and I would love to be a Folk musician of the modern day.

When I think of folk I think more of this like Bellowhead, Seth Lakeman, Show of Hands, etc...

The stuff you posted seemed more like medieval folk. Particularly the song by Wongraven, that could be ripped straight out of a medieval festival. I like it, but I prefer the of stuff I posted.

I'd consider OP's video folk too.

Folk always seems like a vague term to describe a genre...
But generally what I listen to that I consider folk is certain music that generally includes acoustic instruments (I'd consider Bon Iver's music ranging from folk to in-part folk), as well as music with celtic instrumentation (easy to see in folk metal).

Anyway, yes, I like folk music. :)
