Right now I'm still learning the ins-and-outs of Windows 7 on this laptop, but it didn't take long at all for me to like it better than Vista... not that that's saying much. 8) Shiny and transparent stuff aside, I like what they've done with taskbar and how they organize things, plus if the drivers worked on Vista, they're working on here. My desktop is still running XP though, which I don't see changing anytime soon unless if I decide to install something on the other partition.

That said I'd really like a computer with OS X.6. :(

On my desktop I have Windows 7 Home Premium...it's alright but I hate the language support on it. On my netbook I have XP which I rarely use, and Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Remix which I love.

Work laptop XP Home laptop OSX (my personal XP laptop is considered dead since it barely runs anymore) Home desktop OSX I'd like to play with Windows 7 through Parallels or Boot Camp, but I don't feel like spending the money on it since I have absolutely no reason to.

Windows 7 for me. I had Vista before 7 came out and had no major problems with that, so I love 7. The best thing about it is the lack of resources it uses when compared with Vista. Before I installed 7, Vista was using about 60% of my RAM at all times, and now 7, on the exact same system, uses about 40%.

Plus, I love the aesthetics of it.

I have been highly impressed by Windows 7 Professional. The computer has run remarkably smoothly and in the entirely time I've had it, I believe I've only had one BSoD. *touches wood* The performance tools are also good for more appropriately managing system diagnostics.

I got Win7 and updated from XP and I must say my PC runs better. So if anyone has XP and wants to speed up their PC a bit, get Win7. I like it for the most part, just have to get use to going other places to get stuff now.

I don't understand what's so great about Linux. I've had Ubuntu and Yellow Dog on my system before. It's just so poorly optimized! It's so slow. I had to install all the drivers manually....

I don't understand what you mean by that...

I have freedom with Windows.

Linux is just another alternative. OSX is the only closed-platform you mentioned.

Linux can run on anything you can even make your own hardware for it . windows is more locked down and makes you pay for software that should be free . you can do far more with the os on linux .

Running Windows 7 Professional on an HP Laptop.

"You know, I had an idea while using the restroom at Dennys. Why doesn't my PC take more than 5 minutes to start up, then completely crap it's pants for 3 minutes randomly when using an internet browser? I thought it up, and Windows put it in. Windows 7 sucking complete butt. It was my idea."
