Absolutely loved it. Best Graphic novel to film adaptation I've seen, and could ever hope to see. Nearly frame for frame identical (aside fromt he ending obviously, which I found to be improved). Music was iffy, but I got into it after a while. The song that accompanied the Comedian fight in the beginning sent chills down my spine.
I enjoyed some parts of it very much... overall it will be forgotten. It had a feeling of dullness throughout. Maybe I would of thought differently if I hadn't listened to The Times They Are A Changing 1000 times before this movie. Rofle Copter.
the music for the most part was campy but the Dr. Manhattan origins story that music made my spine tingleAbsolutely loved it. Best movie I have seen in a long time, and it has an amazing sountrack.

I love the soundtrack. Great music. And great movie too. I prefer the comic, but it was a good adaptation.

Agreed also, I liked all of the music though.
Towards all the people complaining about Manhattan being naked: if he were clothed it would completely contradict his entire character.

I love the color blue... and i think i've stressed my feelings about wang....
Other than that I enjoyed watching the movie the first time... The second time i watched it I could see the problems with it as clear as day. Its still okay IMO.... But there are alot of other better movies this year.
The story was very unpredictable and interesting, and I loved the soundtrack. In the end though, this guy is what made the movie. Most badass superhero of all time.
I definitely liked it, although the graphic novel is much better.chessmaster1989
When you say, "graphic", do you mean...you know, graphic? ;)
awful awful awful piece of fanboy masturbation they could at least try to make it appeal to people who haven't read the graphic novelhamstergeddonthen Zack Snyder wouldnt have done his job Edit: Ultra pee-pee nice
No, he was a stereotypical superhero, doing the lame cliche voiceovers that both The Dark Night and The Spirit did before it. i refuse to acknowledge that the spirit ever happened.

The only good part of The Spirit was watching Samuel L. Jackson and whoever that other guy was beat the crap out of each other. The rest of the movie sucked. So, yeah, it was a pretty awful movie. :P

Err, actually, in terms of graphic novels, I think "Is that the best you can do, ya pansies" probably wins, given the context.

Rorshack is amazing. I almost cried when he died. :cry:I've only seen the director's cut, and I have a feeling I would have been better off watching the theatrical cut. The movie's biggest problem is that it's too long. Most directors have the same thought after completing their movie - I have all these deleted scenes so I should just slap them in and rerelease it for all of my fans who will gobble up every last drop of whatever comes out of me. NO. More doesn't make something better unless there's a specific purpose for including extraneous material. I'm not sure what was original and what wasn't in the director's cut as it was the first and only cut of the movie I watched, but it was definitely too long, contained too many scenes that did nothing to advance the plot or flesh out characters, and while the musical selections were interesting they clashed with the scenes they were inserted in. The only one that worked was the song chosen for the intro, and oddly enough I felt the intro captured the point of the movie better than most of the boring as hell dialog heavy scenes - human, flawed superheroes. Maybe fault lies with the comic, I don't know. I haven't read it. But I'm guessing it's all Snyder's fault, since the plot wanders all over the place, the characters are boring and poorly defined (other than The Comedian and Rorschach), and less crucial but still annoying, whoever did the sound mixing did a godawful job as scenes of people talking are like they're whispering on the other side of a room and action scenes are like someone cramming every last inch of Dr. Manhatten into your ear.DJ_Lae
the directors cut really irritated me
i was expecting tales of the black freighter and the comic book ending not the nonsense that ended up in it
