When do you make eye contact? if not what do you look at?

When you having a conversation with someone where do you look at it. As for me when someone is talking i look them in the eyes but when i'm talking i just look at something else, how bout you guys?

when i actually have interest for what they are taking about i look at eyes but if i dont care i look down or past them.

I make eye-contact always. Helps me get me message across. If someone is shy I usually lower my head to find their eyes and make them look at mine back. Sorry, but I can't stand it if someone is looking off in the distance. Sometimes its hard to tell the difference between shy and ADD.

I pretty much make constant eye contact. I only look away if something catches my eye or they bore me.

People who's eyes are always darting around make me think they aren't paying attention.
