I think it really depends on the person on when they want to lose their virginity. I mean everyone is different, some lose it at an early age before their 20's or in their late 20's to early 30's.
Ideally, after 18 when one should be mature enough to accept the responsibilities associated with it... but hopefully, it ends up being with someone you care about, and not as a means of gaining popularity in high school; where it will cease to exist afterwards, especially if you get pregnant.
Honestly, I think having intercourse is wrong. If it weren't for making babies, I would be against it. So I'd say keep it if you can.Mr_Cumberdale

a good time is when ure ready for it and u found the right one (ok not maybe the one ull marry but u know a right one u think u have a future with and feel completely urself with) however so many young people crush and fall in love every damn week in a new one, so they think its the right one and are ready... its pressure for both females and males to have sex early, females also have the pressure of being cleaned shaved and analsex and all sort of stuff that guys see on porn and think is normal for everyone if ure doing it to get rid of it or cause ur bf/gf is pressuring or friends are or cause ure sooo old....then face it...ure immature and not ready:P cause this is something u do cause YOU want it and are ready for it and that dont have an age

When you get married? I don't think it's age dependent I think it's conditional based on finding who you love, and having said that at least 18. Kids shouldn't be concerned with the crap forced on them in this day an age.

when you stop being a dumb*** and can figure out contraception, primarily. I'm not one for casual sex, and I feel bad for anyone who had a bad virginity-loss experience. I didn't because I waited to do it with somebody I loved, and that's what matters to me.

I honestly can't answer this one. There's no "appropriate age" when one hits sexual maturity I guess; your body is readying itself for that very experience. Someone can throw in some other aspects like "the age when you understand contraception and safe sexual practice" or "when you're married (like that counts for anything)" - but neither is really an answer, since that age is damned variable, and evenmoreso in the first instance. So, I suppose the best thing would be to just say there's certain conditions that need to be reached before it's appropriate, the age is not much of a matter as long as those conditions are fulfilled.
Can I just say this thread has given me a headache and move on?
