When diplomacy with Russia becomes impossible, if it ever does. If and when it happens, it will be another exploding ally powder keg with everyone just jumping over to their respective sides for some serious conventional/nuclear warfare.
The US and Russia are the only countries I can see that can drag the world into a true world war, not so much Iran or North Korea because they simply aren't large or influential enough. They're actually relatively very isolated.
Maybe the next president will turn out worse then everyone thought and start attacking countries:o:P.GamerBoy53well i am guessing like 2020 or 2025. I will star with wars between India and Pakistan or Israel and Iran. Because of the religious bases for these wars a lot of people wll get invloved and there you go. I am also thinking that both of these are way closer to lanching nukes on each other than the U.S. and Russia ever were.

You mean the only way WW3 will happen if the 2 reigning super powers get into a fight...didn't have to go into a whole explination :D.
I think nukes, and the promise of mutual obliteration, will do an adequate job of keeping us from engaging in a large scale conflict.
Unfortunately, religion pulls out all the plugs, because many evangelicals feel that the apocalypse is a good thing, and that scares me, especially if one were ever in a position of power....
Well relations with russia are going down fast, but they don't have the infuence to get a bunch of people invloved, also china is becoming way more of a threat than russia, the only fight i could see between the U.S. and China is like 2070 or so when both nations start running out of oil and food is becoming scarce, it will most likely be fought in the middle east. When diplomacy with Russia becomes impossible, if it ever does. NO, not at all....China and the US have interdependent economies...nice try though
[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]It won't.....tman93Im the biggest hater of thread talking about WW3, and people apperently wanting it to happen, but you can't honestly say there will never be a world war ever again? I can...I will...I did. The economic climate is much changed now from the past.
I highly doubt it will ever happen. None of the major world powers - US, Russia, China, Europe would want to get involved in a costly war like that. Any other conflict is not large enough to be considered WW3.sonicare
Well that all depends on who is able to rise to power.

Yes with globalization - attacking one large economic power may have dire effects on other countries given trade and investment.
Plus the means of war have changed. Technology has advanced such that the assured high level of casualties and possible total destruction serve as a strong deterrent.

All you need is one. Maybe you only need one nuclear bomb too, attacking a single city of worldwide importance. How about Moscow, the capital of the country with the most nuclear weapons on earth, and launch it from a place close to the US or China? What do you think they'll do?

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

Here's another question. Why are you so sure? I mean, it's not like it's how the seasons come every year.
"Oh, time for another world war!"

Did I say that?! it's not like I was talking fast, and you misheard me. It was a message post.Youcan take your time to read what i typed, and read it again if you can't comprehend it, because I know my syntax might be a little advanced for your taste. An evangelical is someone who is maniacal religious, to the point of fanaticism. Some of them have world-views that demonstrate a blatant disregard for human life and a disregard for all those who do not share their faith.
This is just one of the meanings of the word, just in case you were wondering. I'm obviously talking about the worst of the evangelists, there are many that are decent human beings and valuable members of society.

I don't know, I just do. Im sure it won't happen for a very very long time. Possibly not in many of our lifetimes, but I just think that someday it will happen, even if its hundreds of years from now.[QUOTE="Jacobistheman"][QUOTE="jetpower3"]Well relations with russia are going down fast, but they don't have the infuence to get a bunch of people invloved, also china is becoming way more of a threat than russia. When diplomacy with Russia becomes impossible, if it ever does. Did you see the rest of my post, which explains that even though we have interdependent economys, we are competing for the same resorces that we are running out of real fast and when both countrys can't the resoruces they need, things could get real ugly real fast.hopefully it will never happen. If it does happen though I bet that it will be started by one of the following countries. Iran, North Korea, Isrial, Russia, China, or the US.

The Mayans didn't say that... Ever.
their 3 set calendar system ends in 2012, implying the end of time, end of the world, whatever. Lots of people have assumed that. Don't act as though Im the only one to ever mention it.
