When is Russia going to pay reparations to war victims from Berlin and Ukraine?

It is estimated that thousands if not millions of German women were raped during the soviet red army advance on the city of Berlin and they did the same in several other countries but they were specially vicious in Germany and Ukraine, Germany was defeated and they were placed under allied administration for years, but now they are once again an independent nation and a unified nation for that matter, if germany was demanded to pay reparations for victims of warcrimes commited under Adolf Hitler's third reich then why wasn't it demanded to the Russian gobvernment to pay reparations to victims of mass rape and murder at the end of the second world war under Stalin's rule?

I recently watched this movie and started to ask myself about the subject, i couldn't find anything on Russia paying reparations to anyone for the crimes of the Red Army during WW2.

Legally- States have immunity from lawsuits for acts committed during war on the soil of a foreign nation (See the ICJ case of Germany v. Italy for a recent case where germany filed suit against Italy/Greece for allowing internal suits for victims of german occupation during WW2)

The Germans offered reparations voluntarily, and only for holocaust victims.

What about the Victims of Atomic bombing of Japan by the US, Are they less deserving? Millions of people suffered during WW2 whether 1 person was raped or 1 million, Does that change the effect to the individual involved? WW2 is a war we need to put behind us, We can't afford to hold the sins of a past generation against the new generation. Germany was forced to pay for it's defeat much like it was after WW1, If Germany had defeated Russia then they would have forced them to pay very dearly for their defeat aswell.

By being forced to sign unconditional surrender, They lost all ability to negotiate for fair terms. What happened to them after the war was completely at the discretion of occupational forces.

I havn't got the time right now to go into details but there is far more to the whole reparations issue then just the surface, Specifically various thefts, insurance policies etc. I'd go into far greater detail to answer the OP but havn't got time.

Russia probably doesn't see any reason to do so, because they'd probably consider it Germany's fault for bringing them into the war in the first place and also because Russia doesn't give much of a crap about civilians, let alone civilians from other countries.

I assume thread creater is from the west, and it is pretty sad how ignorant you are acting to Russia. Stalins regime was brutal, but it was not so bad that the allied nations chose to give it financial support and aid throughout world war II. The USSR was an ally to Britain, the commonwealth and America.

Also if Russia somehow owes Germany, then US and britain owe Japan and Germany for all the damage and civilians deaths they caused through theur firebombing campaigns.

Everyone should stop asking for apologies from each other. I've seen kids fight each other because they didn't say sorry.

Nonwithstanding the rules of war, modern Russia defines a large part of its role on the world stage through antagonizing the West and glorifying their struggle in WWII. Why do you think they'll give them anything, even voluntarily?

Technically the third reich was a different government and a completely different state than that of modern Germany and the weimar republic from the post WW1 era and yet Germany pays reparations to holocaust victims voluntarily.

The true irony is that Stalin was wanting to attack Germany and was amassing troops near the new border between Germany and the USSR when Hitler attacked. Stalin was close to losing the war with Hitler and due to Hitler's bumbling and repositioning of troops, Operation Citadel or the Kursk battle, would have been another Russian massacre instead of Germany just ceding the ground to the Russians. It wasn't really a Russian victory as Stalin would have had people believe.

Meh, I think it evens out when you consider the 30 million or so Soviet citizens the Germans murdered.
