at the time, our intelligence, and pretty much every other big country, said there were wmd's. saddam wasn't letting un inspectors in even though he was supposed to. it looked pretty suspicious. yes, we were wrong, but at least we got a brutal dictator out of power. that doesn't change the fact that the person who made that comment has no credible proof iraq was about oil.

yay American gov kicked the brutal dictator (same person they supported when he was commting those brutalities) and now theres even more brutality in Iraq...thankyou American Gov

Edit: also since every big country is a poodle for Americas government ofcourse they are gonna say same thing

the whole thing about saddam trading oil in euros instead of dollars was just a happy coincedence, right?

Two ways it will end:

A: The US addondons Isreal and it goes back to its previous owners

B: The US takes over all Arabic countries.

Ofcourse much like with the war of drugs in columbia if "B" happens those countries will fight tooth and nail agaist the US from the inside.

im going with never seeing as how terrorists will always be in this world also because we no longer seem to have a cause that we are fighting for and yet we are still fighting. Also we decided to fight in a land that hs been in turmoil and war for as long as it has had a population so i dont really ever see this whole thing ending. At least not the way we want it to end.

when the terrorists realize we won't back down and surrender (and if a democrat wins this year they will surrender to the terrorists) and they have no chance of destroying us. if we leave the middle east and stop fighting the terrorists, they won't just stop attacking us, they will take it as surrendering and step up attacks. and how about an unbiased poll?shoeman12

That's the type of logic that will keep us in a self-perpetuating war. The best way to combat terrorism is to find alternative energy sources so we don't need to utilize any Middle Eastern oil and to work on changing the conventional perception of the United States in the Middle East. Unilaterally attacking countries and getting our army bogged therein makes us look bad and creates enemies. Trying to play hardass does nothing because I can guarantee that the people we are fighting are more dedicated to their cause than Americans will ever be. We're fighting for what? They're fighting for something they're willing, able, and absolutely glad to die for.

If we don't need the Middle East for oil directly or indirectly (because any adverse social movements there will effect the price of oil), we don't need to be there physically (this is Osama Bin Laden's primary motivation for declaring war on the United States; I direct you to his declaration of war), we don't need to fund regimes that support terrorism, like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, and we don't have to worry about anything that goes on there because the whole region will be marganilized and irrelevant. If we don't have soldiers stationed on Middle Eastern soil they lose a primary motivator and propaganda piece. If we don't need oil, we don't have to spend millions keeping the Saudi and Pakistani regimes in power.

[QUOTE="Ravirr"]Much like the war on drugs, you can't really fight a war on terror. It just doesn't work out.Fortier

the war on drugs can be won we just need to have a joint military/police force fighting it

and we would need to invade alot of South american and Central american countries and alot of cities in america

take out there structure and top leaders and members along with take all the users off the streets and into to jail for life we should crack down on it if your selling or using drugs and we find u its a automaic death sentenceLOL no going to jail .......

Way to dash my dreams. I was gonna ask if I could buy some pot from you, cause whatever you've got must be ****ing insane.

Pot is not a drug it grows from the earth naturally LOL

I'd say LSD isn't as "hard" as Heroin or Cocaine because of the addictive properties of it.
